Kincaid did a huge amount of work to rescue Buc's original from the bowdlerised mess that his nephew published. The latter's version has been on the internet for ages, leading to continued misrepresentation of Buc's work. It's great that we can now all access Kincaid's edition.
The History of King Richard III by Sir George Buc, edited by Arthur Kincaid, published by @SocAntiquaries & funded by @rsociety_iii is now available as a FREE digital download. From the early C17th, it’s the earliest challenge to the story of Richard III.

@SMHarrisonWrit1 @menysnoweballes I'd not thought about it much to be fair. Looking back now, the person presenting is probably too young to be Aubert. I hadn't thought either was a person of colour when I first looked at them, but perhaps the watcher is??? (cf the hatless figure in the workshop)

@CeliaRichards0n What is so ridiculous about this story is that there was a vote by National Trust members, and this is what we voted for.

Finally got round to properly celebrating becoming @ARochaUK's 50th Gold Eco Church in a lovely event with friends from across the community. Heard about all the great things @StJohnsCofESch are doing too. Not giving up hope.

@seaxeducation @_MattFirth_ Sorry just noticed a duplicate there. Emily Winkler's article on Aethelflaed is another. You might find mine debunking the "myth of marriage more danico" useful - the website it was on originally has disappeared but the article still turns up with a web search.

So pleased that at today's AGM members of the National Trust voted in support of the Climate and Nature Bill, in support of strengthening the response to the climate and ecological emergency, and in support of making more of the food in their catering outlets plant based.
⚡ BIG NEWS! ⚡ @NationalTrust members have voted in favour of supporting the Climate and Nature Bill! We’re grateful to everyone who voted for the #CANBill motion at today’s #NationalTrust AGM. We’re looking forward to campaigning with the Trust in the crucial months ahead.
