I am honored to serve in this role to raise awareness of chronic respiratory diseases (CRD). Had a productive and stimulating meeting with @DrTedros about @WHO’s work on CRD, engaging global and local support, and seeking increased investments from governments and donors. #ncd
Chronic respiratory diseases deserve more attention. This is why I appointed @JLCastroGarcia as my Special Envoy for Chronic Respiratory Diseases. We discussed the importance of investing in affordable treatments, integrating its care into primary health care, managing interplay between lung infections — such as pneumonia and tuberculosis — and addressing the risk factors like air pollution and tobacco. #HealthForAll
