Honestly, one of my favorite parts was when this Secret Service agent who walked closely to the kids said "good job" to them right before leaving my camera frame. The kids stood so still in line and were quiet while everyone else was talking. Proud mama moment. ❤️

JD spoke with employees quite a bit as well as the owner of the store who was telling JD about Kenosha's Italian heritage from large groups of immigrants (of which my husband's great grandparents were some) that settled here. JD was so friendly to everyone.

After a few minutes, I decided we may as well head back to our van. As we were walking, a woman stopped me and asked if I was there to see Vance speak. I said yes, but that we couldn't get in. She told me he was heading to Tenuta's after this and walked away. 🤯 No one else knew.

Knowing that JD Vance was going to be speaking outside in front of the Kenosha Courthouse (where the Kyle Rittenhouse trial happened), we headed there about 11:30am to try and get through security in time for the 12pm speech, but were turned away as everything was starting early.
