I think about this a lot as I hear nonstop dirtbike revving, cars right outside blasting music for hours in a residential neighborhood, neighbors screaming at each other all day long with their windows open, etc. Am I the problem for wanting quiet?

We have an iconic sports complex. All four teams should stay there. This is dumb and affects the people in Chinatown. Getting to games will also be hell for out of city fans.

So tired of Philly nimbys, imagine moving to (or near) streets like Broad or Market then fighting potential large developments. Where else should they be if not in these places? In this case, they live in a highrise but want to prevent another highrise?

Councilmanic prerogative is antiquated and and out of step with modern principles of good governance. As mayor, I will issue an Executive Order directing city agencies to cease any deference to councilmanic prerogative in decision-making unless required by law.

@TGinPhilly They're not for us they are for young proffesionals, for a new generation of people from OUTSIDE Philly. They're replacing us. However people like my grandparents were hard working middle class people, they don't want people like them here.

“This will happen to many more hospital employees with the arena in broad daylight.” Why would people going to a 76ers game be roaming the streets assaulting hospital staff? Will there be many early AM games? Imagine people saying these things in an actual conversation.

Yes, yes they are. Tonight a certain sect of Philadelphians will descend upon the convention center to obtusely protest a $1.6bn private investment in the city’s primary economic corridor. With state reps and city council members included

Their minds are racing, trying to think of any negative spin to put on the reduction in gun violence. Data is data UNTIL it goes against the agenda. The reality is that violent crime is significantly down, but there is still a lot of work to do.

Do not be fooled or misled by people who claim that violent crime is down in Philly. More guns are being fired at other people than ever before. But, if no one is hit and no one is seen, it is never recorded as a crime. Just like a person who killed but never found.

@SouthPhillyJays My fellow Jay, that’s not how it works. Businesses pay for off-duty officers to work security, it’s common and all over the country

I seriously don’t get why people feign ignorance to certain issues in our city. Caffeine is a drug too and yet there’s a difference between drinking a coffee and shooting up in public

Occasional reminder that alcohol is a drug. Ergo visible drug use is decidedly NOT relatively new to Manayunk.

Last night @ Wharton Square Park was the weekly “Oldies at the Park” event. While music was playing & everyone was chilling, ADULTS on slingshots blaring rap felt the need to drive through the MIDDLE of the park for no reason besides a fuck you to everyone there. I’m over it man
