Ms. Anagnost guided 57 Kennedy students to be Adobe Certified Professionals: 49 in Photoshop; 8 in Illustrator. The certification is an industry-recognized credential that validates proficiency in Digital Design. It gives students a competitive edge & concrete evidence of skills.

Miles Gardin (11) received a paid internship this summer w/ Kennedy/Marshall Company through LA Fund/The Intern Project that connects juniors to industry professionals. Kennedy/Marshall Company produced Steven Spielberg’s films including: Jurassic World movies, Lincoln, & Munich.

Senior architecture students designed a pair of living pods “LP200” & “LP400”: LP200 were 200 sq ft for 2 people; LP400 were 400 sq ft for 4 people. Students utilized modular construction. Winners were: 1st - Brianna Rodriguez-Torres; 2nd - Jonathan Guzman; 3rd - Miguel Mariscal.

Junior architecture students designed “TempTown Center” with a comprehensive community center. The AIS awarded 3 prizes: $100 for 1st, $75 for 2nd, $50 for 3rd place. TempTown Center (Juniors): 1st Place: David Nevarez; 2nd Place Selkie Manugian; 3rd Place: James Villalvazo.

Andrew Ceballos, Mariah Rubio, Ryan Dawson-Messer, & Diego Olvera from Dr. Gupta’s Physics class were finalists in the Nanovation 2022 competition. The event was organized by UCLA's California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI). Students created business proposals based on Nanoscience.

ARC Student Council Co-President, Jasmine Aner, represented Kennedy HS on a Beyond the Bell field trip to LA City Hall. The students had the opportunity to meet the LA Mayor Eric Garcetti, Deputy Mayor, Chief Equity Officer; tour LA City Hall; and engage in leadership activities.

Kennedy's SkillsUSA raised funds and designed a new Calming Room for students who are feeling anxious to support school-wide mental health. The students selected furniture and artwork to create a calming environment.

Congratulations to Amy Moore & Amaya Rosales. Their PSA "Break the Pattern" won 1st place and $500 in 10th annual Directing Change suicide prevention PSA contest. Amy & Amaya also won a Grand Prize and $750 at 56th Annual California Student Media Festival.

In September 2021 Coaches Gabriel & Mrs. Prado began training with 25 student runners for 7 month with the goal of running the LA Marathon: 26.2 miles. On Sunday, March 20 they completed the LA Marathon. Kennedy is so proud of our SRLA Cougars going the distance. Congratulations!

To support the increased anxiety and stress in students from the challenges during the pandemic, our SkillsUSA chapter created a Calm Room for students in the Kennedy Cares Office. The chapter raised the funds, designed the space, built it, and students have quickly put it in use
