The best American DDR players are now disqualified from KAC forever.
You can continue to make excuses for them based on “rules” and “culture” but I’m choosing to live in reality instead.

Ending my hiatus on this account now.
When I made my original full statement in December on my main account, I was feeling really alienated and down. The cruise has reminded me that no person, place or circumstance should ever keep me away from the DDR community. 🌻 Scores soon!

It is not enough to say “every player is welcomed! 🙂” You must deliberately craft spaces & tournaments that show that all skill levels are welcomed (MOTL format is amazing for this). You must *explicitly* say and create tournaments *for* women/nonbinary/trans/beginner players.

Women’s and lowers tournaments are not pointless Weenie Hut Jr. “get-in-the-way-of-real-competition” events. They are genuinely great for the prosperity and growth of the game. And for our community, full of games that you can’t buy at GameStop, growth and exposure is critical!!!

first 15 PFC is a huge deal for me.
it’s always be the threshold of “if you can PFC a 15 you’re a good DDR player”. ever since I saw Fresno Frenzy in 2018 (when I couldn’t pass 15s) where if you had a 15 PFC you were auto in uppers.

I need a DDR coach lol. I thrive w/ structure, guidance/discipline, and accountability, which helps me be consistent. Gym too! classes/coaching is when I’ve been the most successful. Otherwise I’m at the gym just on random machines (Or for DDR, just playing random songs)

Maybe, 2/3 years from now, we’ll see more women at the highest level in SMX, especially with the availability to play SMX increasing pretty dramatically very soon. Let’s make sure we’re ahead of the curve! I would’ve never entered SMX if there wasn’t a women’s division.
