I'm always amazed at the APIs @devongovett & co pull off in react-aria. Making it trivial to turn a table built with @tan_stack into a keyboard a11y DnD file explorer... Gives me more time to clean up the styling 😅

@chronark_ @jonathan_wilke Fair! I’m curious with what you come up with if you do. Ive seen systems with db triggers + history tables, dumping current data into a json col, or event sourcing. Not sure if I really loved any of them or which one is truly the”best”.

@chronark_ @jonathan_wilke Maybe I am blind, but are you actually storing what data has changed or just that an event happened?

@housecor Spent 4 years learning basic math in grade 1-4. At year 4, one of the students pulled out a calculator and did the same math in seconds.

@tannerlinsley @KevinVanCott @tan_stack What’s the idea? I use it lots, never had issues and it did everything I needed it to do. My fantasy might be limited though👀

@zeeg Great read, love the transparency. I always think of PmF as the moment you don’t need founder lead sales anymore because sales has become a repeatable process. I do think your definition comes before that stage, so both may be true.

@thekitze The best part is that it “just works”. I had 0 need to configure anything. No more following iterm guides everytime I reinstall for the best theme / plugins.

@windsurf_ai love the public profile and all, but I’ve pushed easily 10+ new users onto windsurf. I think it’s time for a referral program 🤪

@_ryannystrom @tannerlinsley @TkDodo I really dislike folders like this: I do appreciate the code within the hooks though. Personally I would prefer if things are split by e.g. features or route. Same goes for the components folder.

@housecor Instead of enum, I always add date formatter function. Part of the design lib for the frontend, and some utility in backend. Sometimes even shared if mono repo.

@ryan_t_brown @housecor Not that I am some all knowing react dev, but I can’t say I’ve seen many code bases where “most files” have more than one component. I’d say standard be more exactly 1 and never more than component per file. But maybe I m out for lunch here.

@marceloterreiro @brexHQ Blaming hooks as a concept because of depending queries is crazy. My guess is you don’t have that issue in the backend? Might just be a frontend org / architecture issue. Because abstractions exist in the backend too.

@webdevcody 100% agree with this take. Of course there’s some nuance, but all the rebuttles can be solved by good communication etiquette.

@FernandoTheRojo Can we see the rest of this code? Does are you sure just set a state variable in the component? Do I still need to mount the alert? Is the alert a global component?

@chronark_ @ImSh4yy Yeah def a nice one to just copy paste into your project. A bit too tiny and unmagical to use a package for 😅 love invariant though

@_lazerlen Oh it does. It’s not even comparable. It’s like you just replaced a 10 year old laptop
