Textured parts under clear plastic will always be peak
A hot take for Builders but something I think most modelers can agree on:. Molded shell units for the HG WFM kits were a better approach than the Printed Shells units the Aeriel and Lfrith Had. There's more options to paint in your own Permit Color than being limited to the print

@Slifer__Slacker Every single clip of super robot shows I see makes me question everyone’s tastes even more. how is this even remotely appealing.

I think you don't get why people like model kits. Its you making the thing. YOU MAKE IT HOW YOU WANT. YOU CAN PAINT IT YOURSELF TO LOOK THAT GOOD. THATS THE ENTIRE FUCKING APPEAL OF MODEL KITS IS THAT .YOU. MAKE. IT. HOW. YOU. WANT.
@Irex_models @AlanGar43089826 This is what a high end collectible looks like. Note the detailed paintwork and shading. Size and light gimmicks don’t a figure high end, many kids toys are oversized. Detail does. You could paint that gundam to look high end, but out of the box it just looks like a toy.

have you seen modern gunpla articulation?? Knees & elbows double jointed, Ab-crunches, swinging out hips, feet that can tilt forwards and to the side almost 90⁰. And the thing is, they look fucking good. This thing costs $25 btw.
@DamianNguyen16 @Charuncle1 @Irex_models So then, what the original post said was 100% true, and I don’t see why anyone disagreed. The standards of Gunpla collectors are in the dirt because they care more about building than actually having a quality product for pose and display.

2002 kit thats been built for almost 7 years now (that came on runners) that hasn't yellowed or loosened at all after a lot of posing:
@Irex_models If you want a figure that can actually stand the test of time, then yes. Either that or smaller pieces come pre fixed.

@PeterZimmerman0 You know how it says "next test".The one before was the Borjarnon (Turn A's Zaku II). Of course, he guessed Zaku II, but that is a reasonable mistake. And then he said the "HI-V" thing.

@DeltyThe73rd They've also made "trash, the model kit," which is more of a puzzle because it doesn't come with instructions

A thing
@Irex_models Okay but important question is what shoulder joints it uses, because a TR-6 Gogg, especially with the aqua hambrabi ii equipment, would go so hard.

Consolidating into one post:. 1. It would hike the prices of the individual products.2. They most definitely do, its just what haooens with this style of injection molding. 3. You have to remember these are mote intricate, there are parts that look almost identical.
@Irex_models @BulaloDasoup 1. Bandai is the second biggest toy company in the world, not a mom and pop shop with minimal margins. With their scale, they can easily do it at the same price and make a sizeable profit. 2. Why would it leave marks? Transformers don’t have them. 3. Group parts in different.

@fool_like @Nooramorph It doesnt explicitly tell you you need to build it, but it does have things like "kitbashes" and "model kit" plastered all around.
