As meaning becomes more of a luxury in a modern world marred by a deluge of endless information & rhetoric, traditionalism needs ever more than today to be understood & emphasised. Here goes our humble effort in that direction to get the ball rolling. धर्म की जय हो।🌺
Welcome to Dharma 101, our new podcast in which @infinitchy and @Indic_drishti will articulate the traditionalist point of view in a contemporary idiom. In this first episode, we answer the most elementary question, "What does Tradition mean?"

@historiakayasth Sultanates in general are attested with inflated history. Their annual tax collection drives were basically one bloody conflict away from agrarian revolts, Rajput guerrilla wars & rival military coups which often prompted Sultan’s military presence to curb it out.

@historiakayasth Which means that the arrival of Persian-Arabic cognates preceded Islamic period in India. I wonder if that was reciprocated by Indian words in the Islamic lands. Persianised/Arabised Sanskrit?

@historiakayasth Slightly off-topic question- is the name Hammira a Sanskritised form of the Arabic Amir? Many mainstream historiographic accounts mention the etymology as such. But then it seems implausible for Chandelas to be under such heavy cultural influence of Persian-Arabic linguistics.

It'd need a full-blown war on babudom while facing resistance against the US military-industrial complex like Iran. This first needs a truly independent political discourse in sync with present realities. When would that happen? Only Shiv knows, my guess is the near future.
4 pictures from the late 1800s 1st from USA, 2nd from Germany, 3rd from Britain and last one from India 1st 3 shows productivity and optimism, last one shows doom and despair If after missing the industrial revolution bandwagon we can come to this stage where we are flying self made fighter jets, planning space station and attracting people from all over world to our hospital I will say we are somewhere, that too with shitty democratic structure Problems are aplenty, our urban areas suck, bureaucrats are leeches comparable to Sub Saharan Africa but country is full of potential India has 1.7 Billion people, soon we will be 2 Billion, every 4th person will be from India, stop reading, take a moment and digest this We have lost our right to be called a country, we statistically represent humanity now Any exercise to develop India, would be an exercise to develop Humanity itself But but China did it with more population...... Yes China did it, there were factors which made it possible which are not with us And that makes it even more difficult as a large chunk of wealth released in world economy in last 3 decades already got concentrated elsewhere To move that wealth and to consume future new wealth, we need era defining reforms in land, labour, laws and most of all R&D What will happen only time will tell, but I am not giving up on India, at least not yet

@historiakayasth The famed thousand-temple skyline of medieval Kashi was rebuilt by Raja Todar Mal, patronizing many houses of traditional art forms. Todar Mal was also the first Mughal courtier to reject Din-e-Ilahi's initiation by Akbar.
