It’s fantastic to be part of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association alongside Arapahoe County judges. Hearing about their overwhelming caseload and the challenges it creates for both the judges and the people relying on the justice system highlights how critical it is to address these systemic gaps. Everyone deserves timely access to justice, and it’s clear we need to invest in strengthening our judicial infrastructure to make that possible.

And we’re off! The 75th Colorado General Assembly is officially underway! It’s an incredible honor to join the Senate and to have been sworn in by the first Latina Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court, Monica Marie Márquez. I look forward to working with President James Coleman and all the amazing members of the Senate and House. I can’t wait to get back to work!

President Jimmy Carter’s unwavering dedication to human rights reminds us of the power of principled leadership. His courage in addressing injustices, no matter how controversial, set a standard for pursuing peace and equity without prejudice. As we honor his legacy, we are reminded that advocating for human dignity, including in places like Palestine, is not just a political stance—it’s a moral imperative. #HumanRights #PeaceAndJustice #JimmyCarter

Today we reflect on Indigenous Peoples’ Day and the struggle for justice, sovereignty, and self-determination. On this day, we honor the steadfastness of Indigenous peoples in Colorado, across the U.S., and around the world, and also stand in solidarity with Palestinians who continue to resist occupation and apartheid. Justice knows no borders, and our commitment to equity and liberation must be universal. Indigenous communities across the globe share a deep connection in their fight against displacement, colonization, and erasure. The stories of resistance and resilience echo the same truth: indigenous people have the right to their land, their culture, and their freedom. #IndigenousPeoplesDay #FreePalestine #SolidarityAcrossStruggles #JusticeForAll

Today, I honor the incredible legacy of my Senator, and close family friend, @SenJanetBuckner as she steps down from her role. Senator Buckner’s unwavering dedication to our community has inspired so many, including myself, to serve with passion and purpose. Her leadership will be deeply missed, but I know her impact will continue to resonate for years to come. Thank you for everything, Janet. #Gratitude #Leadership #Community
