Trivino missed 2023 due to surgery and only returned in late 2024 for rehab games. Good depth pickup with a real chance to break camp.
Free-agent reliever Lou Trivino in agreement with the San Francisco Giants on a minor-league contract, sources say. The deal includes an invite to spring training.

Alonso signing anywhere except New York never seemed like a remote possibility to me. Giants have no reason to be interested in a long-term commitment, which would be the only feasible way to drag him away from the Mets' grasp.
For the Alonso speculation 1) That's not going to be enough annual money to get a deal done 2) They probably shouldn't sign him period

FanGraphs' projections have the Giants at 81-81, tied for the 3rd fewest runs scored per game in the NL (Pirates, Marlins, T-Nationals). Another projection that really likes the pitching staff but not the offense.
PECOTA's initial projections have the Giants at 78 wins, and scoring the third-fewest runs in the National League (Marlins, Rockies). Relatively bullish on the pitching, but they're not a fan of the offense.

Braxton threw a handful of pitches with StatCast data in Spring Training last year:
Braxton Roxby will likely start the year at AAA. Non-40, wasn't protected or taken in the R5 this past winter. FG scouting report says he throws two breakers, including a sweeper, and a mid-90s fastball. Weird low release.

@jahomen It would deflate the CBT hit but whatever offer the Giants give to Alonso, he's presenting to the Mets. They'd have to really blow the Mets' 3/$68MM offer out of the water to get something done. And if the Mets were willing to do 3/90 earlier in the offseason...
