@JackEllis Yeah, at my previous company we had to migrate a ~20 years old schema, so we used this technique, it took roughly 6 months to get rid of the codes where the old schema was used. I think this is how all enterprise migrate big amount of data...

@alexanderOpalic @soubiran_ @laravelphp Sure you can change your database by editing your config. There is a debate to use repositories "what if you want to change your orm" but frankly I never head the issue to change ORMs in my career...

@alexanderOpalic @soubiran_ @laravelphp You can use a repository, but it is not not required as in Doctrine (Symfony). In Laravel we usually put these as functions to the Model and use like that.
