Lukaku putting his finger to his lips telling the Gwladys Street to be quiet after clearing a corner has topped off what is by far the best game of the season.
Jim Ratcliffe here saying what we’ve always known about the so called Big 6. A man who more often than not gets what he wants in the business world, struggling to transition into the football world. His go to is to spit his dummy out. The arrogance & entitlement is astonishing.
Regardless of whether you believe Everton’s guilt or not, you can’t deny the club are being targeted. Forest breach with losses of £34.5m & are docked 4 points yet EFC in breach by £36.1m (£19.5m/£16.6m) docked 8 points in double punishment. Still nothing on City or Chelsea.
Everton criticised for going after Ancelotti, one of the most successful managers in world football.
Arsenal praised for appointing Arteta. A man who has won nothing, with little to no experience as a manager.
Can’t make this stuff up!
Smash these today, Blues!
The Merseyside derby will take place at Goodison Park and I for one can’t wait for the scenes in the home dressing room as Everton go in 4-0 down at half-time!
The club seriously need to come out and request the audio from this red card incident. These people need to be held accountable. What was said? How has the ref been persuaded to change his mind? Call these people out. Enough is enough.
People need to stop saying football is back. It is not back! A new, modified, mid-season rule changed version of the game starts tonight! This is not football! Football is not back!
Barcelona inserted a €100m release clause in Andre Gomes' contract when he joined from Valencia. A clear example of how much they valued him. Everton have just signed a bargain at £22million.
Amadou Onana has completed his move to Aston Villa. His Everton career - for me - will be remembered for this moment. It arguably derailed our season and ultimately accelerated his exit. He will do well at Villa but he won’t be missed. A player who believes his own hype.
The Premier League had a TV deal with Russian broadcaster Match TV which ended one month after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. They didn’t anticipate the war but expect its clubs to? Just let that sink in. Double Standards. Farcical.
🗣️ Neville Southall on TFG: “It's the best club in the world, we just need people to come in who match that ambition & improve the team. Since we made that decision that finishing 10th was ok, the club has gone downhill from there. The ambition went & it has never come back.”
🗣️ John Textor: "The term Financial Fair Play is a fraud. It says that teams can only spend 75% of their revenues on player salaries. It is designed to allow the big teams, the Liverpools, the Manchester Uniteds, they just get to spend more money – it’s not fair at all."
Man Utd with a £42m bid for Leny Yoro, 18, a player with no experience in England, contract expiring & only one full season in Ligue 1. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise of Branthwaite’s true value. A player who excelled abroad & returned home & set the PL alight.
Really surprised to see the lack of media coverage for this year’s FIFA World Club Cup, considering it’s the ‘biggest’ club match in the world, apparently. It’s that big and important it wasn’t even shown on UK TV. That says it all really.
Can’t believe what I’ve just witnessed. Quite possibly the worst capitulation I have ever seen. And it’s all on Sean Dyche. A manager who reluctantly makes subs when the team is getting beat, makes unnecessary subs when the team is winning. Questions have got to be asked.
I’ve noticed a few tweets this morning suggesting criticism of the current situation at Everton is over the top, so having been unable to articulate a response in less than 280 characters, here is my view 👇
Gueye contracted to Everton until 2022. The club held all the cards in this one. Selling him now for a cut down price would’ve been criminal. It’s about time the club made a stand. Regardless of whether he’s unhappy or not, this is the right decision.
Jarrad Branthwaite. A player needing to be sold on the back of not fit for purpose PSR rules. It’s time clubs make a stand against the Premier League and it’s closed shop.
Remember when every pundit under the sun questioned Ancelotti’s motivation to join Everton?
‘Too old and here for one last big pay day’ they said.
This picture suggests otherwise! Yesterday was hard to take but we have the right man in charge to take the club forward!
I genuinely know some Everton fans who find it easier to be negative about the club because they didn’t want Marco Silva as manager in the first place. So when/if Silva fails, they can just say I told you so. That for me, is not supporting the team.
The disallowed DCL goal; there is no clear & obvious error. The ref & linesman believe the on field decision is no foul. VAR doing exactly what it shouldn’t be doing and interfering. Howard Webb being undermined. Over to him for answers. Clarification with an apology or resign.
The Everton way..
- Don’t address vital positions in the Summer ✅
- Poor run of form ✅
- Panic ✅
- Buy over priced quick fixes in January ✅
- Offload over priced quick fixes bought in January ✅
- Repeat ✅
(Give Silva & Brands the time they need to get it right, please)
I think it’s safe to say the return of German football behind closed doors has proven the game without fans is nothing and any victory in a closed stadium is a hollow achievement. I’m just so glad there are like-minded fans out there who feel the same way...
Who gives a f*** what Joleon Lescott has to say about anything to do with Everton! I remember him not giving a f*** when we were hammered 6-1 against Arsenal first game of the season 2009! Couldn’t wait for Man City move. Ferguson made the decision about Kean and it was right!
Dyche openly admitted in his press conference they didn’t work on anything specifically new during the break. It’s not because he didn’t think they needed to. It’s because he doesn’t know how to. A limited one dimensional manager who only knows how to play one way.
I don’t care who you are, no one predicted 3 home wins in a row following Chelsea. After that horrific run, Dyche and the players came in for some fierce criticism (absolutely justified), but they’ve turned it round with the help of the fans. Credit where it’s due. COYB.
A decision on Dyche needs to be made tonight. Everton’s managerial merry-go-round should have no bearing here. No other manager in the league would survive this run of form. He doesn’t know what he’s doing and he’s lost the players. He needs to go or we’re going down.
We’re currently in 4th place after winning 4 out of the last 5. Beating the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester. Now because we’ve been beaten it’s the end of the world. I don’t buy into that mindset. Frustrating performance and result but important not to overreact.
🗣️ James Rodriguez: “I never wanted to leave (Everton). I felt that I could have gone on to play two or three seasons more at the club. But it’s plain to see that the manager said that he wouldn’t be wanting me to be involved. The supporters wanted me to stay, and so did I."
Doucoure: “Iliman is a top player. He can play left, play 10. Some people try to compare us but we are so different so I don’t understand why people try to make this competition between me & him. I want to keep playing with him. He’s is going to give us a lot this season.”
As if Ferguson is going to publicly slag Moise Kean off after the game! He used an excuse and will speak to Kean in private. Ferguson has his reasons. Thought Kean looked gassed straight away and possibly not following instructions. Ferguson looked livid when he came off!
My take is that Sigurdsson is no longer offside when the ball comes back off Maguire! The shot from DCL is cancelled out with a new phase of play starting from Maguire’s touch!
Whether Sigurdsson is blocking De Gea’s line of sight is irrelevant!
Premier League says referee Simon Hooper was able to watch a replay of Everton penalty on a back-up pitchside monitor before overturning decision.

Who’s Next ❔
There’s more scrutiny of Everton's bargain basement transfers than Chelsea and Manchester City's endless spending and £100million player purchases. Let’s ask ourselves why this is?
Tim Iroegbunam: “I wouldn’t say I’m surprised but it’s been going better than I expected. I knew in terms of self-belief how good I am and what I can bring to the team. The manager didn’t give me any specific instructions in terms of my role. It was more a message to work hard.”
The twisted irony that Dyche described the Bournemouth loss as a freak result and didn’t think it necessary to hold an inquest, only for the exact same result, in the exact same way, to happen in the very next game. (1/2)
Best performance of the season ruined by four minutes of madness!
First goal I can accept! The second is atrocious! We had possession of the ball (from the restart) and we still managed to give away possession and concede a needless free kick! Only Everton!
Idrissa Gueye for £21.5m? Based on the current transfer climate the offer is a joke.
Liverpool sold Dominic Solanke for £19m who has barely featured in the Premier League.
Regardless of the transfer request, the club need to stand firm here and hold out for more money.
Ancelotti is only decent when the club he takes over is in a stable/winning position is a weak reason not appoint one of the best managers in the world.
Especially when the only alternative is David Moyes. If Ancelotti is willing to come, you do not turn him down.
“The Friedkin Group and A-CAP recently reached an agreement over the debt, one that gives an extra layer of protection and security for the soon-to-be new Everton owners to embolden them to come back to the table.” (1/3)

I honestly think this is a great deal for the club but seeing plenty on my timeline saying the opposite. £50m for a player who didn’t start in Everton’s three best wins of the season. No brainer for me and strengthens our hand further in keeping hold of Branthwaite.
I find it crazy Everton backed Allardyce with over £40m last January even though we knew he’d be gone by the Summer but we’re not willing to give Silva money now who is on a long term deal. Silva seemingly being punished because of poor recruitment by previous regimes.
Speculation here but it’s not out of the question Friedkin could be playing a waiting game, choosing to take a calculated risk that 777/A-Cap fall into liquidation. Why pay back £200m when you could pay back £0?
Michael Ball: “I think Dyche needs to learn not to be too predictable & add a bit of surprise to the team’s play as I believe a lot of fans would get on board with that. We need to be able to offer a different tactical plan because what we’re seeing is the same copy & paste.”
Without a doubt Iwobi’s best game in an Everton shirt. One touch football, quick passing, no dwelling on the ball. The less time he has to think, the better. All about instinct. Quality performance.
Liverpool's show of ambition in the transfer market will make them Premier League title contenders in 2018/19 according to

Arsenal awarded a penalty for a handball there by VAR.
The exact same handball situation Everton faced with Dele Alli during their match with Spurs.
No penalty given for Everton though.
Everton once again fall to rules which aren’t fit for purpose and are set to be abolished next season. Not to mention any potential punishment for Premier League rule breaches will no longer be impacted by a points deduction, just a ‘luxury tax’. Absolute shambles.
Leighton Baines cements himself as Everton’s player of the decade with yet another memorable long range strike tonight!
Haven’t seen Goodison Park celebrate a goal like that in a long time!
Seamus Coleman really needs to set priorities at this stage of his career, and that should be Everton. Hopefully no more than a knock, but the warning signs are there already.
Fabian Delph speaking to the media at Finch Farm today for his official unveiling.
Whether you agreed with the signing or not, he will be a big voice and influence to the younger players in the dressing room.
Baffles me that some are calling for a ‘stopgap’ manager until the end of the season if Silva is sacked. The season is far from over. Four points off 6th and still in two cup competitions. A manager with the right mentality and track record of winning trophies is needed!

Why are we expecting anything different from Everton?
Current squad is laced with bang average mid-table mediocrity.
11th, 11th, 7th, 8th in the past four seasons.
We’re in this position because it’s exactly where we should be.
Some Everton fans asking when does it does stop becoming a work in progress?
It never stops becoming a work in progress. Think Sir Alex was ever satisfied at United? Absolutely not!
Not satisfied after 27 trophy laden seasons. Silva isn’t going to be satisfied after 20 games.
Everton’s initial 10 point penalty is the biggest factor in all of this mess. There’s no denying now the PL/IC have purposely made an example out of the club, with no real basis for coming to a decision on the first punishment. The government must not let this mess continue.

Still feel numb to what happened yesterday. The fact he could see it coming - we all could - and he did nothing. He only made matters worse if anything! A near perfect 86 minute performance by the players, followed by a 10 minute period ruined by the manager. Dyche Horror Show!
It really annoys me Dyche continues to describe this summer as a reset. Quite frankly he’s using it as an excuse for our bad start. Keeping our best player and signing some promising individuals should be seen as building on the solid momentum from the back end of last season.
