Dúirt an Taoiseach, Micheál Martin go bhfuil an rialtas ag cabhrú le 23 duine as an dtír seo atá sáinnithe san Afganastáin agus atá ag iarraidh an tír sin a d'fhágáint. Tá an tÉireannach - Aoife MacManus i measc na ndaoine sin.
I had a lump in my throat when I took this photo of Henry, a 16 year old Terrier who whose family died in a suspected murder suicide this week. Any pet owner will know that dogs are capable of feeling a profound sense of grief and loss which Henry is no doubt experiencing (1/2)
Despite having to cover the horrific tragedy in Cork, I have never found a community to be so hospitable and kind. One family who I never met from outside Mitchelstown wouldn't let me leave their home without giving me a bag full of food and drink for the road back to Dublin.
Had a very nasty fall off my bike on my way to work today. Absolutely gutted having broken a few of my teeth but luckily that's as serious as it gets. I'm so thankful to the 5 people who literally gave me their coats of their backs to keep me warm while waiting on the ambulance.
2/2 Following the tragedy, Henry was taken into the care of a respectable animal rescue shelter. It is expected that his extended family will claim him when the time is right, but for the moment he'll remain in the capable hands of kind hearted professionals.
I approached Saoradh - 'the political wing' of the New IRA yesterday - to question them about the death of Lyra McKee and their 'unwelcomed' visit to Sallins, Co Kildare. Went exactly as I expected it to.
Here is a snippet of the massive house party in Sligo on Monday where over 100 students crammed themselves into a semi-detached. The line for the bathroom must have been crazy!
Hopefully people have enough sense to leave Jozef Puska's family home alone. His children are completely innocent in all of this and must be terrified for their safety.
Delivery truck denied access to the new asylum centre in Santry yesterday but protestors allowed the workers to carry their stock on foot from outside the blockade.
I've a heavy heart to report that I'll be leaving my colleagues at INM after 3 very enjoyable years. It was a very tough decision to make, but on the bright side I'll be joining the crew at the Irish Daily Mail - a fantastic paper with an exceptionally talented fleet of journos.
News stands like this are definitely doing the newspaper industry a great disservice. They completely defeat the purpose of an eye-catching headline, making it impossible to get the gist of a story unless you physically flip the paper over.
These type of people scream fake news yet they'll swallow anything. Other widespread conspiracies yesterday included undercover cops throwing rocks and bottles at the public order unit to blacken the reputation of Coolock.
Delighted to be nominated in the
@newsbrandsirl
awards for my coverage of Covid-19. Congrats to everyone else shortlisted, including all my
@irishdailymail
colleagues.
Remember that woman who led gardai on that massive chase down the M50 less than 2 weeks ago? She's now having the time of her life in Barcelona. Still waiting to be charged before a judge.
This great piece of art, assembled from car parts, bike wheels, and plastic barriers, was torn down in 2019 to make way for a hotel. Nearly 3 years down the line and the building remains an ugly blemish with no signs of anything being done to it.
Make it your duty to read about the life, talents and ambitions of Josh Dunne before someone is charged in connection to his killing. After that the media will no longer be able to publicise his name. This law has to be amended so that child victims are not erased from our memory
Could be wrong, but I think this is new, never been seen before footage of the 2nd plane hitting the south tower of the World Trade Centres. It was only uploaded 2 days ago and it's terrifying. Watch from 2.00mins
Amazing what 7 days in one of the poorest regions on earth can do to your outlook on life. I hope I can do these people justice by sharing their stories of malnutrition and drought so that more will be done to provide them with the help they desperately need.

The protestors in Santry were not happy with me recording (audio) their exhange with Dessie Ellis TD. 'You’re not welcome here ye slimy cu&t. Expect a solicitor’s letter for recording me without my permission.' The man then walked to gardaí where he was told I was in my rights.
Superintendent Tony Twomey expressed his gratitude to the community of Ballyfermot for their solidarity following the attack on two garda members on Sunday night.
