ARMY, time for our fifth FALESTA event! This week we are raising funds for
@rida_ehab
, who has been working tirelessly in the past 8 months to provide the displaced people in Gaza with food, tents, clothes, medicine and other necessities. He has been prioritizing his people
I’ve had to step away from the fandom quite a bit in the last few days bc it was getting too intense, and I would just like to say something about the boycott if you can be patient with me and read this in good faith whatever your opinion is on the matter.
@joowonsbully
to be clear I couldn’t care less if he’s dating a woman as long as his privacy is respected and no info he’s not comfortable sharing is not being shared
I am pro HYBE boycott, I think it makes sense as a community to strive to make that community be a safe place for those in vulnerable positions, and to not contribute in any way to genocide or apartheid. Scooter Braun being such a big figure in HYBE is unacceptable to me.
I would like more people to boycott the merch especially, and send a clear message to HYBE about how badly they’re handling things, but I can understand a lot of people in the middle. What I don’t understand is the hostility. Why are you so angry about people not listening to
songs? Why is it so bad to want assurance that they stand with Palestinians? Have you not seen the pictures of V in the wreckage of a bombed house? Do you not think the voices of those affected should count for more than yours rn?
So, when those very opposed to the boycott band together and get accounts suspended, or systematically take down our fan letters lovingly asking bts to stand with us, or even just the ones with a press vest drawn on them…I truly find it hard to believe that they are not Zionists
@syubtraction
My mind goes to Jin in that glorious low cut shirt:
🐹: would you still hang out with me wearing this?
🐨: I would… but I wouldn’t talk to you
🐹: I’m in going to stop you right there
It is unacceptable bc I love bts and I love army and I love what I thought we stood for. Despite problems sometimes it felt like it is a force for good, this love we share for the boys and their work. So, I think it is important we communicate that. That as a community we will
Not stand for people who think it is okay to eradicate a whole people and to take their land. And who use the platform given to them by our boys’ hard work to spread that worldview. I think a boycott sends that message to HYBE: you have to remain a morally responsible company
Why is it that when I write a heartfelt letter to bts processing these feelings, communicating with them in the only way we are given as fans, some of you feel entitled to deem that letter inappropriate for their eyes? And I don’t matter in this whole situation but this is
What other reason is there really? Could you not just enjoy them how you want to enjoy them and not judge those who are trying to balance that love and enjoyment with the fact that we are seeing the horrific extermination of Palestinians every day?
I think these are the things we (hopefully) agree on:
1. Genocide is not to be accepted as a normal part of the world and we should all do our part in stopping it, preventing it and helping those affected by it.
2. Zionists are not welcome here, as fans or in HYBE or as collabs.
if you want our money. I don’t think it’s an insane ask. Now, I understand that others might feel that boycotting bts’s work sends a different message, one of lack of support for them as artists and people, so I can understand people not boycotting their music
And I don’t judge them for that, though I find it hard to understand when even the songs with public Zionists make it to their playlists.
If you’ve been with me so far, this is really the point I want to make. There are a lot of opinions that are understandable and valid
Also happening systematically to Palestinians in the fandom. So pro-boycott armies are getting angrier, more hurt, bc of this. And the people in the middle seem to see that as aggression. My theory is that most people in the fandom have this nebulous idea of both sides
If you got to the end, thank you. I’m not sure anyone is actually going to read this, but if you do, here are some army go fund mes trying to get their families out of Gaza.
If we can agree on that, if I could talk to the whole fandom I would ask:
1. Block and ignore everyone being rude or hateful. Don’t give it any platform.
2. Don’t participate on mass reporting of pro-pal accounts or letters.
3. Don’t spread generalising or complot narratives
Finally, as a whole fandom, wherever you fall on the spectrum of the boycott opinions, I would also ask that we all treat Zionist fan accounts (as in those posting their guns and naming them after bt21) as we do solos and hate accounts. Instant reporting and no engagement.
By generalising narratives I mean:
- people who don’t boycott are all Zionists
- pro boycott ppl are antis
- army is all spineless and can’t do anything good
Complot narratives:
- the boycott was started by antis to sabotage bts somehow
I don’t want to leave the fandom. I love it and I love bts and I love army still. But I can see how it is untenable for Palestinians and those who support them most closely to stay here and not start thinking of army as a whole as a bad thing, as the worse side of it.
I don’t know the solution. I was honestly crushed when my fan letters were deleted and my Weverse account was hidden. And that pain is so small compared to what others are experiencing in the fandom.
I think it would be a good start to stop generalising individual interactions.
In an ideal world we would all be having nuanced conversations on this and accepting that people might reach a different conclusion. Obviously not on genocide, but on how best to deal with the situation in the fandom. And we would all join efforts in the things we do agree on.
And they don’t see the hate and violence being done… honestly probably by both sides. And each side only sees the worst of the other. I’m sure a lot of anti-boycott people are not going around reporting fan letters and Palestinian accounts. But they do see pro-boycott people
(usually not Palestinians) being rude, proposing controversial projects that are actually not being pushed by Palestinian fans at all and calling everyone not boycotting Zionists. And from our side we see the absolute worst from them as well. We see the harassment and silencing.
And bc that’s how social media and human psychology works, we end up associating these behaviours to whole group. Spurring even more animosity again. And then we get here, where it’s a divided fandom who sees everyone on the other side of a nuanced conversation as disgusting

they are specifically not favoured by billboard, which is why you only know their songs in english, if you go into their discography with an open mind you might be pleasantly surprised by what you find
I want our fandoms to be safe for Muslim fans and that’s impossible when a man who spreads racist and genocidal propaganda is the head of HYBE America and in the board of directors of HYBE. Get him out!

First, UNICEF has had questionable handling of aid in Palestine. Secondly, to answer both, it’s not bc something is hard that it should not be attempted. I understand their position, I still think they should show support. The thread is about accepting those different conclusions
@sapphicsseokie
@jinzam0
well, sometimes they are, it’s just not as often and as non-Korean speakers we might not realise the ones where it’s the particle and the ones where it’s affectionate. but sometimes it is affectionate
the sad part is that right now this is true… they have so much pain between them that they never got to actually know each other, so jk wouldn’t really miss th at all. how heartbreaking is that for th, after so many years of putting all this emotion in this?
But I can tell you this. Your son is easy to love, and so he will always be loved. By many people, in many ways. My love, " He bit his lips, " He won't even miss it. "

@InterludeShadow
at least 30 minutes every single day since the first time I saw their art. It usually leaves me right in the middle between anxious and deeply amused
Genuinely, if it isn’t disrespectful (or like sexually explicit, shipping or triggering trauma dumping), who is any one fan in the fandom to tell another what they can and cannot say to the members… it’s such an insane overstep in my opinion.
This cuz it just pissed me off how my fan letter was taken down. Like they're taking away the means through which we can communicate with tannies.
I'm sure it was reported by armys cuz I censored Palestine here. I mean who are u to decide wht BTS should read what they shouldn't?
Hadn’t had to block anyone sharing unofficial pictures in months! I’ve been so careful with my follows… I guess it does need to be stated again. Here’s a helpful infographic about when it’s ok to share bts content
As fans we do not want the artists we love be related in any way to Scooter Braun and his propaganda which seeks to normalise the genocide of Palestinians. GET HIM OUT OF HYBE

Overnight? We were trending it for weeks on and off?! And emailing them since it was first announced! They added more dates last minute even. What are you up to even talking about
“I’m just… so frustrated,” Jimin says, kicking a stray pebble. “If only I could see what he’s try to get at, that would explain everything that’s not clicking at the moment.”
“I believe in letting people’s actions speak for themselves,” says Namjoon, slurping his boba tea.
Namjoon sighs and clears his throat. “So. I’m not sure why it’s been placed on me to stand as some kind of mediator, and it’s not like we’re in group therapy, but the point stands. So. Today’s case is: An Alleged Kiss from 3 Years Ago—Defendant Park Jimin, Plaintiff Min Yoongi.”

El primer día en todas mis clases lo primero que les digo a mis estudiantes es que ellos son los únicos que saben si tienen que ir al baño o atender una llamada o salir a tomar aire así que no tienen que pedir permiso, solo no molesten a nadie saliendo.
Jimin and V uncommittedly wearing skirts in this photoshoot makes me really really really want them to do it for real. Just look at him. He looks so pretty. #방탄소년단지민
“Hot summer days!” Jimin interjects in a garbled rush, punctuating his outburst with a pitchy giggle. “Because yes, silver has a cooling effect on the skin! And it was really useful in Perth, you know.”
Beside him, Yoongi has fallen quiet, but he nods along. “Interesting.”
@yurieem
i have never been so happy with an impulsive purchase as I am now. these are absolutely gorgeous and I’m in tears with happiness. thank you so much
oh the way my teeth just bared at jk… i love him but he can be such a dick. maybe they should rather try showing their kid that you don’t need someone else to be happy. my acearo sensibilities are annoyed at both of them. i’m so invested in this story lol
"Or maybe you should put yourself out there more instead of waiting for me to come clean the cobwebs from between your thighs every couple weeks." Jungkook retorted.
"Oh...you... I.. How dare you... Ugh!!" He screamed throwing another pillow at him. This time Jungkook caught it.
@HYBEINSIGHTtwt
Hopefully when it reopens we can have something centred on the artist’s music and art. We don’t want more gimmicks. we want to hear their music in the best possible quality, see the making of process in detail, go through the narrative concept and hear them talk about each song
@namjoona9764ps2
It's about true nihilism, accepting that nothing means anything, nothing matters, we are mere specks of dust in an infinite universe and nothing we do is particularly important. And then coming out of the other side of that realisation and choosing love and connexion.
It’s such a classist take as well… like it was those who can’t pay for it that are the issue… no, the assholes come in all tax brackets unfortunately, and they become more common the higher you go in them
People saying that paywalling lives will fix the comment problems - it won't - I'm 100% not buying that argument when filtering & moderation exist & the annoying ones spamming "speak in English" will still be there because they paid for the membership....
Singing spring day was so powerful and beautiful. We are doing this out of love and grief, exactly what the song is made to convey. For all martyred Palestinians, we want Scooter out. #하이브는시오니스트를퇴출하라

so disappointed by fanfic and fanart accounts I’ve followed for years who’ve now decided that it’s ok to share unofficial military content. it’s sad to block when they make good art but that’s just not acceptable

1. Masks are also for public health reasons! Big events should require masks! 2. In the US especially pocs are persecuted and punished for participating in protests. The idea that only criminals hide their identity is one born out of extreme privilege.
This is my first time reading a fanfic as it is published (and I’ve been reading fanfics for like 20 years) and this is killing me. I live this so much they are so cute
Just like that, the tight clutch over his chest loosens, and just like the first time he heard Yoongi’s voice over the phone, Jimin is keenly aware of the slamming of his pulse against the walls of his throat.
The bus horn honks, and Jimin springs away from a wide-eyed Yoongi.

Lol I remember when butter came out I only realised after a couple of days that I had probably watched the video 60-80 times. I wasn’t trying, I wasn’t even looping it or playing on repeat, that’s just how often I went back to it 😅😅
Then his gaze slides to Yoongi, and he blinks a couple of times, pupils dilating with what Jimin assumes is curiosity. “And hi…?”
“This,” Jimin says, gesturing to the entirety of Yoongi’s person. “Is my friend—“
“Daebak,” Jihyun exhales slowly. “Blue&Grey’s THE Min Yoongi?”
For once, Yoongi orders something different off the menu—hot citron tea, the same as what his current date ordered. Jimin sighs, feeling the first signs of defeat slowly creeping into him, banishing the confusion eating him up only yesterday.
Maybe Yoongi is a serial dater.
I think this is the most important criticism to my thread so far and I do agree. It’s not fair to expect level-headed politeness from people who are being hurt and “objectivity” and “politeness” have always been in the oppressors’ toolkit.
albeit i respect and agree with many points here, part of it is playing into ‘the right to comfort’ framed as some sort of intellectual objectivity. I do not believe that we, but palestinians especially, are obligated to show kindness or compassion to those that aren't actively-

Identity politics has a different connotation in English so I’m trying to understand. Saying a party is not conservative or progressive but puts women as an identity rings alarm bells in my head, does this identity include all women? Including trans, lesbians, non-korean women?
"That's a crush. You feel those tingly nice things at first, but it washes away eventually."
"No, it doesn't," Jungkook mumbles. "And I know that because- I've been in love with the same person for almost nine years now." Taehyung's eyes widen but Jungkook continues talking.
I’m so annoyed at how sad I am that my account has been hidden and blocked on Weverse. I have a few season of Bon voyage there. I didn’t use it often but I did put my heart into whatever letters I wrote. It’s just… sad. I didn’t do anything offensive or bad. I know it’s a small

Found family has a queer connotation. It doesn’t need to be queer necessarily, but the idea is people who are rejected or feel apart from their blood family find a family outside of the traditional constraints that usually mean family. This doesn’t really fit the trope at all
There’s also the embarrassing urge to stretch out his fingers & rake them across Yoongi’s floofy hair. It’s the stupidest thing, the way Jimin feels yanked back to being his old high school self, fumbling and stumbling under Yoongi’s scrutiny.
Even worse, is that Jimin gives in.
Many of my moots follow this person: regardless of whether you’re boycotting or not, the idea that only criminals have to hide their face, in response to a call for masking at a mass event, is ableist and born from ignorance and white privilege.
aahh they’ll never get to know each other if they can only lie to each other this is so tragic. i think they’re so afraid to have any vulnerability bc they’re convinced the other will take advantage of any opportunity to hurt the other 😭😭😭😭
Jungkook seemed to watch him for a few minutes, a thoughtful look on his face.
"I told my dad we were considering a divorce. " He said quietly and Taehyung felt his pulse quicken a little.
"Did you tell him why? "
Jungkooks face was neutral.
"No, I didn't. "

jimin is a rising cat whisperer in seoul, but he doesn't have a cat of his own. when he moves to a new apartment, he goes to adopt a cat. the white cat, seoltang, immediately takes to him. until the next day when he wakes up with a naked yoongi on his bed.
I think I’m quitting on my PhD…. As the said, it takes courage to make the decision to give up on your dreams and to recognise that they are not for you…
If Yoongi’s here to give him an answer, Jimin would very much rather not hear it. At least, not at the moment, when he feels trapped in his own stupidity.
While Yoongi pays, he says, “Anyway—“
“So like, are you here for a date or something?” Jimin quizzes, busy with cashiering.
