Wrapped up #ITURDF for the Arab States region. We had great discussions on the state of digital development, the Regional Initiatives and fostering partnerships at the #Partner2Connect Matchmaking Roundtables, focused on digital infrastructure + capacity development.

Pleased to announce today at #ITURDF with CEO Holen of @ripencc, represented by Dr Chaya, the signing of a joint declaration on IPv6 to foster digital resilience, sustainable development + enhanced connectivity for all.

The State of digital development + trends report shows that the Arab States region has made key progress in the ICT sector: the #ITURDF held in 🇯🇴 reaffirmed the commitment to advance universal + meaningful connectivity + digital transformation in the region through partnerships.

The Regional Initiatives for the Arab States continue to be the compass of our work delivering impactful results in the areas of cybersecurity, innovation, digital infrastructure, regulation and digital economy. Thank you @TRCJO for hosting #ITURDF 2025

The @ITU Global Cybersecurity Index 2024 revealed a notable improvement in countries’ commitment to cybersecurity. The Arab States have mirrored this progression with the same average score of 66. #ITURDF #ITUdata

High Internet cost is a barrier to Internet use and to meaningful connectivity. In the Arab States region, while mobile broadband is generally affordable, fixed broadband remains expensive. #ITURDF #ITUdata

ITU estimates: In 2024, 70% of the Arab States' population was using the Internet, above the world total of 68%. Since 2005, Internet penetration in the Arab States has grown by 12% per year on average, compared to 8% globally. #ITURDF #ITUdata

Pleased to launch the ‘State of digital development and trends in the Arab States region’ report at #ITURDF. This report offers a comprehensive snapshot of the region’s digital landscape, highlighting remarkable progress + persisting challenges. #ITUdata

Eye-opening visit to Al-Hussein Technical University 🇯🇴 that embraces innovation + entrepreneurship in its teaching and has a high success rate in creating youth for the digital future in industry and employment- thank you President Dr Prof Hinti for the visit #Innovation4Digital
