Last week we were honoured to join Indigenous leaders, Guardians & knowledge keepers gathered at the #Indigenous Lands Symposium. It was inspiring to share & learn from others on #Indigenous-led solutions that can strengthen conservation-based economies & help shape a better future for us all. Watch & learn to be inspired by the event!

"We're making choices about the future of our economy. And in some areas, we're choosing to do resource development and mining. But in this area, we're choosing to pursue eco tourism, land based learning, and the development of a spiritual and cultural legacy of the Dene and Cree people.” - @WabKinew . Why protect the Seal River Watershed? ✅ Land protection for future generations 🌿 ✅ Sustainable jobs opportunities 🥾 ✅ A model of partnership between Indigenous Nations, Manitoba & Canada 🤝

“Fire is the same language around the world. So making connections and building collaboration is really important.” Take a trip down under with Joe Gilchrist, Salish fire-keeper, as he journeys to Australia for a cross-cultural experience on cultural burning & #Indigenous fire knowledge.

Indigenous Nations on the continent are all too familiar with these increasingly threatening wildfires, & Nation to Nation support is crucial. Los Angeles is built on the traditional territory of the Tonga, Tataviam, Serrano, Kith & Chumash peoples, who had a beneficial relationship with fire. Our thoughts are with everyone affected.

Curious about IPCA’s? → IPCAs are lands and waters designated and managed by Indigenous Nations to preserve the #biodiversity of their traditional territories. Although each IPCA is unique in their own way, they all: ➡ Are Indigenous-led ➡ Represent a long-term commitment to conservation ➡ Elevate Indigenous rights and responsibilities

“We're talking about good fire, we're talking about putting fires where we want, when we want, for reasons that we want.” Healthy ecosystems sustain life, and "good fire" is key to restoring landscapes. 🔥 @ChristiansonAmy
