For several reasons the Camera Ready deadline for co-located conferences at #ICSE2025 is being extended to February 12th (and for CSEE&T to February 17th).

The SWEBOK Summit will be held at as part of #icse2025 Tuesday April 29th in Ottawa. There will be no registration fee. Call for presentations: deadline Feb 10th, notification Feb 14th. This is an industry-focused event.

All paper notifications for #ICSE2025 have now been sent: 475 in the main conference (Wed Apr 30-Fri May 2). Another 699 in co-located conferences + workshops + symposia! 4056 distinct authors! 520 already registered. 4.2 authors/paper on average. 10% of papers are single-author.

As we prepare for #icse2025 in Ottawa, the #icse2026 team is excited to announce that the call for papers for Cycle 1 is open! Deadlines: March 7 (abstracts) & March 14 (submissions). Next year's ICSE will be in Rio de Janeiro (April 12–18). Participate!

It was pointed out that for a period of time the link to application form for the CAPS grants did not appear on the #icse2025 Travel Support page. That has now been fixed.

Yes,. It is very expensive since it is a formal legal document guaranteeing that we have validated the person so the immigration authorities can trust our word that the person is legitimately involved in the conference. This takes a lot of manual work per letter, and if we make a mistake, trust in us would be lost, and all the other letters might not be trusted.

@sabeerawa05 ... please write to us privately. You are saying you got support and someone didn't write back, but who didn't? And who promised you the funds? This sort of thing is not helpful as just an X post. We are waiving the letter fee for people given financial support by sponsors.

Reasons: 1) The letters are expensive legal documents that require manual production and checking from data that has to be validated; 2) We are merely passing on the cost we are charged; 3) To reduce costs, we need to deter people from asking for a letter 'just in case'; 4) We are waiving the fee for people where registration fee is sponsored (from Africa and elsewhere in the Global South); 5) The letter format is agreed with the Canadian Government and has a code in it to speed processing and reduce fraud; 6) We have documented fraud attempts; 7) This was discussed over a year ago with the IEEE-CS (This year's lead sponsor); 8) Many other steps in visa application are also expensive ... this is just one step; 9) EU, US, Canada are now charging ETA fees for everybody who doesn't need a visa ... so all forms of legal verification are being charged for.
