The Embassy with profound grief bid farewell to Dr. Kim Yang Shik, a well-renowned poetess, author, and Indologist. She was awarded Padma Shri in 2002 for her scholarship on Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and translation of his numerous works into Korean. She also founded the Tagore Society in Korea. A true friend of India and a pioneering Indologist in Korea, she dedicated her life to promoting Indian culture, literature, and philosophy, leaving an indelible mark on India-Korea relations. She established the Indian Art Museum in Seoul and donated invaluable Indian artifacts to Gimhae City. Charge d’Affaires Mr. Nishi Kant Singh attended the memorial service at EWHA Woman University and bid farewell to the departed soul. He extended deepest condolences to her family and members of the Tagore Society in Korea. 주한인도대사관은 깊은 애도의 마음으로 저명한 시인이자 작가, 그리고 인도학자인 김양식 박사를 떠나보냅니다. 김양식 박사는 라빈드라나트 타고르에 대한 연구와 그의 작품을 한국어로 번역한 공로로 2002년 인도 정부로부터 ‘빠드마 쉬리(Padma Shri)’ 훈장을 수여받았습니다. 또한, 한국 타고르협회를 설립하여 한-인도 문화 교류에 큰 기여를 하였습니다. 김양식 박사는 선구적인 인도학자로서 평생을 한국에 인도 문화, 문학, 철학을 알리는 데 헌신하며 한-인도 관계에 큰 업적을 남겼습니다. 김양식 박사는 서울에 인도미술관을 설립하였으며, 김해시에 소중한 인도 유물을 기증하기도 했습니다. 니시 칸트 싱 대사대리는 이화여자대학교병원에서 진행된 장례식에 참석하여 고인의 마지막 길을 배웅하였습니다. 그는 유가족과 한국 타고르 소사이어티 회원들에게 깊은 애도의 뜻을 전하였습니다.

Ambassador Amit Kumar @KumarAmitMEA met Ms. G. Hey Lee, CEO, Liri Bridge, today. Liri Bridge is an animation production and distribution company based in Seoul. It is collaborating with an Indian company M/s Artfulness Studios Pvt. Ltd. to co - produce the first official Indo – Korean animated series, SnoonZ, under the Audio-Visual Co-Production Agreement between India and the Republic of Korea. Ms. Lee shared her experience of working with India on the co-production project. Amb conveyed hope that this successful co-production will encourage more entities on both sides to look at collaboration and audio-visual entertainment sector. 아밋 쿠마르 주한인도대사는 오늘 리리브릿지의 이지혜 대표를 만났습니다. 리리브릿지는 서울에 본사를 둔 애니메이션 제작 및 배급 회사로 인도와 대한민국 간의 오디오-비주얼 공동 제작 협정을 바탕으로 인도의 아트풀니스 스튜디오와 협업하여 첫 번째 공식 인도-한국 애니메이션 시리즈인 'SnoonZ'(스눈즈)를 공동 제작하고 있습니다. 이지혜 대표는 아밋쿠마르 대사와 공동 제작 프로젝트에서 인도와 협력한 경험을 공유하였습니다. 아밋쿠마르 대사는 이번 성공적인 공동 제작이 양국의 더 많은 기업들이 협력 및 오디오-비주얼 엔터테인먼트 분야에 관심을 가지는 계기가 될 것이라고 기대한다고 전했습니다. @IndiainROK @MIB_India @iccr_hq

Ambassador Amit Kumar @KumarAmitMEA thanked the SVCC students for their enthusiasm and perseverance in pursuing Indian culture. He also acknowledged with gratitude the key role played by SVCC teachers in not only imparting knowledge of core aspects but also encouraging students to go further in appreciating the nuances of their art forms. He expressed hope that the students would continue to carry the spirit of India in the future. The cultural evening witnessed the participation of more than 60 SVCC students, joined by their parents. The students showcased their learning experience of the last one year, by performing Odissi, Kathak, Rabindra Nritya, Sanskrit shlokas, and hindi songs and bhajans. Ambassador presented a token of appreciation to the SVCC teachers, who also spoke of their love for Indian culture and their journey of sharing their craft with Korean and other students. SVCC conducts Indian cultural outreach programs for Korean students, Indian diaspora, and other foreign students. These comprise of classes on Indian classical dances (Odissi, Kathak, Rabindra Nritya), Indian language (Hindi & Sanskrit), yoga, and others.
