With good light, the regenerating woodlands in #Morvern are a magnificent winter sight. These at L Arienas, managed jointly by ⁦@ScotWildlife⁩ & #Ardtornish, are entirely natural: not a planted stem among them (at least not for 100+ yrs). The seedbed was prepared by pigs.

Nature restoration in #Morvern attracts a crowd: over 40 - 10% of the local population - turned out on a lovely winter day to talk about community hopes & plans for habitats & wildlife here. Thanks to the great speakers, local enthusiasts, & team #Ardtornish: a great evening. Xx

Alexander Ross was and remains the #Highlands’ greatest architect. His work can be seen in almost every Highland town, and many villages. May 2025 sees the Centenary of his death. So we are holding a symposium to celebrate the man and his work at #Ardtornish.

@alastairmci Inheritance tax in the short term would not affect profitability, so is probably a better idea. In the longer term it too would drive down land values - which most people would favour.

We @Ardtornish are hosting a gathering in #Lochaline Feb 8 to share plans for ecological improvement, possible species (re)introduction, woodland creation etc. &, we hope, get feedback from local experts. #Morvern now has such huge expertise…. Please come along & share it.
