The lambing roller coaster continues. The day started with unexpected death and ended with unexpected life. Thanks to honddu vets....

@farmermat1 @1GarethWynJones It's a pleasure working with you and the Morrisons farmers on measuring the impacts of actions you have taken to reduce GHG emissions. Over the last 4 years we have made real progress - enabled by @Morrisons investment in #climateaction and their direct relationship with farmers

The best mainstream media article on the role of regen ag systems (backed by scientific literature) - about limits of C seq in soils. Regen has lots of benefits (GHG and climate resilience), but we need to be realistic. Well done @FT and @sophieaplin

@GMH_HaydenM @GHGGuru Hi @GMH_HaydenM. We have been modelling impacts of efficiency using a lifetime productivity approach- really useful to show interactions of feed and forage efficiency and herd fertility and longevity. Great for farmer engagement as it dynamically updates when we adjust parameters

@GHGGuru Hi Frank, No, not one of the authors but the analysis reflects what we have seen and the modelling we have done @MapOfAg. We have built a dairy and beef lifetime productivity model to assess the impacts of efficiency on emissions intensity.

@GHGGuru @Alicewants2know Its a long flat line over 4kFPCM... better efficiency improves emissions intensity. Our modelling of imacts of input efficiency and herd performance show over 4k FPCM can have a very similar emissions to 12K animals. Its all about the divisor of maintence. The graph shows this.

@ThrimbyFarms Great thread. In my experience as a new entrant, the advice provided by farmers on practical stuff has been far more valuable than any thing else. I benefited from the @FarmingConnect mentoring scheme which worked really well. Less about reports on shelves & more local knowledge
