World Book Day 2025 is just around the corner! See what Hucklow Primary School has planned:

Our Year Five children completed their gaming unit in Computing, They had to review and evaluate their own game and score and provide people with a set of instructions so people know how to play it.

In RE our Year Five children started to take a look at how Christians believe the world began. They created posters showing how it is thought the world was created.

In Year Two computing they have been looking at questioning databases. They had to use the database to find the right person or animal by answering yes or no questions.

We enjoyed exploring the Safer Internet Day resources and activities this year based around scamming and being scammed. @UK_SIC

As part of their PE learning, our Year Four children took part in a number of different dance activities. They had to move in different ways around the Hall imaging that they were different types of particles e.g. a solid, liquid or gas.

As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, our Year Four children took part in a number of different activities such as these fantastic positive quote mindfulness colouring, an activity about getting to know themselves and writing about their achievements.

In their Spanish learning our year four children have created a concertina booklet all about themselves. They had to write sentences and colour the flag before cutting it and sticking it to create a concertina booklet. #mfl

This term our Year 5 and Year 6 children were set a challenge by our CEO @CascadeCEO to create a presentation about how we can help protect our planet. After a number of fantastic presentations our winners were chosen and will be attending the Final at Whiteways School today!

As part of their new Literacy learning, Year Four have been looking at the picture book Flotsam by David Wiesner - they had to draw their own image of what the boy had seen in the underwater camera.

Year four have been writing newspaper articles as part of their Literacy learning and linked to their story of The Bolds. They typed up their articles using newspaper templates on Purple Mash.

As part of their PSHE learning, Year 1 have been looking at keeping their bodies healthy. They created their own Eat Well Plate adding items they wanted to create a balanced meal.

Our Foundation Stage children enjoyed an incredible experience from @DanceDaysLondon with a Chinese New Year Dance Workshop. They had such an amazing time and learned so much! #dancedays #ChineseNewYear2025

This half-term, we have been learning the names of zoo animals and have written some clues to describe an animal. We have used verbs, adjectives and nouns.

In year 6, they have showcased some great dance moves in their PE session this week. They had to learn a set of steps and put them into a dance sequence to music. They tried incredibly hard. #futurestrictlychamp
