Friends of Ted Silary: Currently Ted is recuperating from a serious health issue. He’s making progress daily, but still not well enough to get back to people who may have sent him text, e-mail, etc recently. This disappoints Ted and has him feeling bad. (Cont).

Just a sad day for many with the passing of Ted Silary. He was remarkable, unique, and a great friend to share a story with. I’ll miss our conversations surrounding many things, but especially the obscure stats we’d share with one another. Man, those were fun times (Cont).

A little update on Ted Silary. Just spoke with Ted and he sounded better. Still hasn’t been out of the house since he got home. However, receiving rehabilitation for his arms/legs 2X a week. The hope is that by spring he’ll be able to take walks outside. Overall, spirit was up.

In the state 6A quarterfinals, semifinals, and tonight’s final SJP has had 20 offensive possessions and have scored 19 TDs. Only time on that last 1 play drive before half. 1,099 yards on 70 total play. 15.6 yards per play. Amazing!.

Whether it be on the sidelines of a Philly SuperSite or baseline in a hot gym, I spent a lot of time with Tom “Puck” McKenna. It was enjoyable and fun to be in his company. Almost always left you scratching your head. He was the best! I’m sure Teddy will be greeting you soon!.

I just finished watching my final PCL game of the year and sent in the last box. All total, there were 243 games involving PCL teams. 102 league/playoff/state games vs each other. Another 141 vs outside opponents. I watched 239 of 243 games. 239 full boxes, 4 partials. Lovely!.

Ted was a very private person, so I feel fortunate that he let me into his circle maybe a little closer than most. I’ll cherish those memories forever. He taught me so much and opened the door to many current relationships I currently have with people in the HS community. (Cont).

West Catholic’s win over the Saints last night was their first since Feb. 1, 2004. A 73-65 win at West. Since that point it’s been 24 straight wins for Neumann/Neumann-Goretti over the Burrs. The average margin of victory was 28.1 and only once was it a single-digit contest.

When Ted was still in rehab center his wife Anne was reading him a lot of the comments that people made on here after my initial tweets. Ted has never sought out attention, but I really believe that all the kind words lifted him up. This outpouring was so tremendous (cont).

When Florida’s All-American TE Kyle Pitts was at Archbishop Wood he played on two state title teams. They were a heavy run squad. He had 49 rec, 761 yards, and 11 TDs in those season. He was a manchild.
