Using a stack alignment v 2-3 is a great way to dictate matchups and create numbers advantage. Options 1. Pop 3 to wing 2. 3 can screen to create 3v2 on right side 3. 3 & 5 can screen to create 2v1 v x3 Simple & effective!

This clip covers something critically important - post competition analysis Most of us finish one segment and immediately go to next without giving kids chance to reflect/discuss what went well & what didn’t A worthwhile use of :60 a few times a practice @KevinFurtado

True but the point is the outcome of your players shots is out of your control Their understanding of and taking of good shots IS something you can control, and contributes greatly to the ball going thru the hoop

The goal is to out the ball threw the hoop. On often overlooked aspect of offense (Seriously, this is not a joke)

Free Throw Validation is a great way to simulate pressure FT. Must shoot & make a FT after hitting winning score Miss - winners have 1 sprint Make - losers have 2 sprints From @KevinFurtado Competitive Motivation Practice System

Another zone play that creates a numbers advantage Flare shooters to corners then forwards find gaps. Creates a 4v3 on baseline If x3 & x4 react to flare 4 or 5 should be open when roll back Simple & effective!

Circle trap is a great drill to work on trap technique as well as reading passing lanes. Can do 3v3 or 4v4 O can’t move Good for O too as players learn to pivot and find/create passing windows. From Competitive Motivation Practice System with Kevin Furtado @KevinFurtado

Box BLOB v zone Beautiful play. Threat of flare from 4 opens up middle pass As x5 steps up, 2 screens x4 behind Timing critical - 2 goes on 4’s slip If x5 stays low, 4 shoots

Another great way to develop leaders is “practice captains” They are in charge of the energy and execution at practice When the standard isn’t met, go to them first Creates ownership among your players - check out how Kevin Furtado does this @KevinFurtado

Coaches, do you let your players call timeouts in practice? Great way to see if players can self-assess and get out of practice funk Shows you who your leaders are Helps develop player-led team Make sure they know they can do it at any time and then you must honor that
