@HoosierDawgPens So it’s just coincidental Michigan started these contract negotiations as soon as IU announced it would be looking for a new coach at season’s end and Dusty May being the clear front runner? This would’ve happened today (of all days) regardless of last week’s news? Ok, then.

@CignettisVape I’m not out on Dusty and would be happy if we landed him, but I’ve noted recent games that would bring the lunatics out of the woodwork calling for him to be fired less than a full season into a contract
Dusty got put into hell by a zone defense and blew an 18 point lead against Mike Woodson‼️ and got blown tf out by Matt Painter a couple weeks ago in Mackey Dolson better get the buyout checkbook ready in 4 years bc we know exactly how the fan base will treat Dusty, right?

I’m not saying IU & Dusty is not happening… but in terms of a business transaction (buy outs, negotiations, etc) IU played its hand for everyone to see and now it’s a matter of what the other programs, over the next ~6 weeks, will do to prevent their coach from leaving

@iugradtwotimes Reality is in a matter of 5 days… IU announced Woody stepping down, played a game where 75% of the broadcast was talking about Dusty & IU and his connection to the state. A reporter directly asking his interest for the IU job …and then UM comes in with extension talks

@brainsmatter_x The writing was on the wall. Everyone knew the move was going to be made in early January after the Illinois game… confirming the move (maybe) stops the petulant children from berating the staff & players, but also gives those other programs the head start on negotiations..

Suggesting that ANY program would fire their coach, a program legend, for 1 down year after 2 years of showing incremental progress is such an incredibly stupid way to view how you build a successful program… on an administrative level it’s just nonsensical

Indiana with a contested Mgbako 3 right out of the timeout that doesn't fall. Baffling decision instead of trying to get a quick 2 and extend the game.
