Babs’ snowballs had their first checkup! Hogle Zoo’s teams, joined by MedVet doctors, gave vaccinations & eye exams to the cubs. One cub weighs 4.6 lbs, the other 4.2 lbs. They are in great health, and guests can expect to visit them this fall. Read more:

Hogle Zoo is heartbroken to share the loss of southern white rhino George, who passed on Dec. 18, 2024, at 48 years old. Surrounded by his dedicated care and veterinary teams, George was humanely euthanized after his health declined in the last few weeks:

Black-footed cat Gaia has moved to Cameron Park Zoo as part of a Black-footed Cat Consortium breeding recommendation! While we’ll miss her, we’re excited for her future and the chance for her to start a family. We’ll have updates about new residents to share with you soon!

We’re excited to welcome William, a Chinese red panda, to Hogle Zoo! After MowMow, resident Himalayan red panda, moved on for breeding per SSP recommendations, we transitioned to caring for Chinese red pandas. Come say hi to William in Asian Highlands! 🐾

Rainy day mood 🌧️😴 Snow leopard cubs Pavlova & Bhutan are now 15 lbs, up from just 4 lbs in July. At 4 months, they’re weaned from mom Babs and mastering their big cat skills—when they’re not napping! ☺️

🐴 Meet Mongolian wild horses Nicolai and Ballstein, the two newest Hogle Zoo residents! The two boys recently joined current resident Mongolian wild horses Dimitri and Mikhail in High Desert Oasis where they’ve started sharing habitat space.
