Fuzzball, Michael Jackson (as Captain EO), and George Lucas pose for a photo during the creation of the groundbreaking film, Captain EO. This 17 minute long film cost over $30 million to make, which at the time, made it the most expensive film ever made (by minute).

The Streets of America and Backlot Tour were opening day attractions at Disney-MGM Studios in 1989, offering guests a behind-the-scenes look at movie-making magic. It closed in 2016 and this area is now occupied by Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

The Grand Floridian Resort opened at Walt Disney World on June 28, 1988, bringing Victorian elegance to the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon. Inspired by Florida’s gilded-age resorts, it became the flagship hotel of the property with a perfect view of Cinderella Castle.
