I’m pleased to announce I have been appointed as a Director for Cricket East 🏏
I will be driving equity, diversity and inclusion in the women and girls game, those with disabilities and diverse communities.
Ecstatic to announce that I’ve been successful in gaining a PhD studentship.
I'll focus on creating culturally inclusive cricket programs, where we attract, identify & develop talent while addressing participation/ performance barriers for British South Asian women and girls 🏏
What a surreal start to the week! I’m lost for words but eternally grateful that the Mayor of Luton, Councillor Mahmood Hussain presented me with a certificate of appreciation for my work within sports and the community
Blown away is an understatement. Honoured to have received the Mark West award at

In addition to graduating, I am incredibly humble to have won the
@FA
Outstanding Youth Leader Award alongside
@LouMylles
for our work on exploring the identities, motivations and barriers of South Asian females playing football in Luton
I’m so embarrassed by what happened this morning. I was cutting through Wardown park to get to the Lutonian Cricket Club. I didn’t realise that there’s a 5k run going ahead, the volunteers started to clap, why did I feel the pressure and start running as if I’m competing 😭
I had the privilege of being invited to the first-ever Iftar in the history of
@LFC
. Anfield Stadium hosted nearly 3,000 attendees as part of the amazing event organised by

My name is published! I loved working on the ‘Race and Equality in Football Workforce’ research.
This research was undertaken in response to the underrepresentation of diverse ethnic volunteers within University football, and participants in BUCS football leadership programmes.
📚 RESEARCH LIVE: Race and Equality in Football Workforce, in collaboration with
@leedsbeckett
We are excited to release this research into understanding how to enhance diversity, equity and inclusion across university football.

I went from dreaming about visiting
@wembleystadium
when I was younger, to being a guest speaker at that same venue 🤯
Yesterday we met with over 60 local school girls, where we shared our journeys within football and the opportunities available ⚽️
This has been one of the biggest wins in my career so far! Alongside educating people and staff on what Ramadan is, we have also opened up our very first multi-faith room 🙌🏽
Blessed to be surrounded by a team that is willing to learn and put things into action!
A wonderful evening surrounded by nothing less than excellence at the
@WOI_Awards
2024. Alongside my friend
@TysieGallagher
, we won the Women of Inspiration ‘Sports Achievement’ Award ❤️
Thank you so much to
@love_luton
for an incredible event and for this amazing award 🙌💗
A huge shoutout to everyone that worked hard to make this event happen and for those who came and showed me endless love! Congratulations to all the winners and nominees

A massive thank you to the dedicated panel members and officers who work tirelessly to improve the quality and accountability of policing in our county
I’m ecstatic to announce that I am now a

I am very passionate about working to ensure all young people have meaningful opportunities to develop themselves, therefore, I cannot wait to begin this journey
Luton Town: No Place Like Home
I had the pleasure to sit down with
@Ponsy34
and speak about what my sporting journey looked like a decade ago. Additionally, we discussed what it means now that
@LutonTown
have been promoted to the

Super proud to have worked on this radio documentary with
@AnkurDesai_
&
@AtharAAhmad
on what Luton Town’s promotion to Premier League football means for British Asians living there.
Give it a listen & let me know what you think ⬇️

It was an honour to be invited by
@SarahOwen_
, Luton North MP and Co-Chair of the
@APPGBritMuslims
to the 4th Big Iftar at Speaker’s House ❤️
The evening consisted of recitation of the Qur'an, live music and speeches. A night of celebration, coming together and breaking fast.
Growing up, we also went through a similar experience. We were told that the "skinheads" were in Bury Park as there was an EDL march. Leaflets via our letterbox told us to lock our doors and windows.
We pleaded with our dad (a taxi driver) not to go to work out of terror.
When I was 12-years-old, I was told to stay indoors by my teachers because the EDL were in town.
In the last few years, my mum and my sisters have been the victims of Islamophobic hate crime.
While many in the media demonise the Muslim community, we live with the consequences.
It was an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be a guest speaker at
@Challney_Girls
awards evening last night. It’s always special going back to the place where my sports journey began 🙌
Thank you to
@CrisisAidUK
for inviting me to speak at the first annual Sisterhood and Unity: Empowering Each Other Through Iftar event.
The evening was filled with beautiful Quran recitation, Islamic reminders and sisters coming together as one to support one another ✨
It was inspiring to see diverse speakers cover a vast range of topics such as: Race Equality in Sport, Tackling Online Abuse, Sport for all Women, Inclusive Venues & so much more

I couldn’t have asked for a better person to be a nerd with me today

Due to health complications, last night was the first time in 24 years where my mum was able to attend one of my events.
Being able to see her reaction, really made everything worthwhile. She sacrificed a lot for us and has always been my support system. Forever my role model 💗

The double standards and hypocrisy in this country never ceases to amaze me.
It wasn’t “political” to share support for Ukraine, light stadiums/ gov buildings in blue and yellow, wear a Ukraine badge at work.
I’m incredibly honoured to have been asked to share my journey as a guest speaker at the
@BedsFA
#SouthAsianHeritageMonth
event. It was wonderful to be surrounded by change-makers who were fighting for equality and greater possibilities for our people 🙌

I work at a private airport in England and wallahi when I say the power the clients have, due to them having money is scary. So many things happen but the company keep it under the radar.
May Allah reward you and your family. I pray she makes it back safely ❤️
Wallahi in the entire time I have worked in DEI, I have never been this broken. It's astonishing that we have to repeatedly persuade people to do the right thing.
No relationship is worth continuing if they refuse to acknowledge what is happening in Gaza.
Honoured to have been in a room filled with passionate and inspiring people who have an immense drive for positive change. Thank you for an unforgettable evening

This world is so small 🤯 I met a girl on the bus and we started talking. She moved from America a few years ago and turns out we both lived in Northampton, moved to Bedfordshire and then Wales at the same time! We even went to the same events but never came across one another
So tired of organisations that publicly declare their commitment to helping ‘young people from disadvantaged communities’ being silent about the genocide that is taking place. Funny how they have the energy to silent their participants and trustees from speaking up about it
It’s okay to be “political” when:
• Qatar wants to host the World Cup
• Ukraine is invaded
So when is being “political” a problem?
• To support the BLM movement
• To talk about the plight of Uyghur Muslims
• It has been and always is too political to talk about Palestine
200+ page list of the dead, a press conference surrounded by dead bodies, children's limbs in plastic bags and the UK, our MPs & Luton councillors looked the other way.
What else has to be done in order for our ‘leaders’ to demand a ceasefire and no longer look the other way?
“Be careful of those who demand you remain neutral in the face of oppression. Do not shackle your soul to the middle when you know which way is freedom.”
- Cole Arthur Riley
I had the pleasure of speaking at the

‘Cha & Chat’ session today alongside the inspirational Jarnail Singh! We had an authentic conversation about the barriers faced by many South Asians going into football, girls at grassroot level, ED&I and Bend It Like Beckham

I spoke about Nadia’s experiences & her fleeing Afghanistan. I highlighted her identity as a refugee, her successful football career & work around activism. I also spoke about her becoming a Dr
“Ask yourself, do we all face the same consequences when we speak up about our and/or others' experiences of oppression?
What is at stake here is not the same for everyone.”
The 118yr old stadium is the "last of its kind in English football" and located in the heart of a cluster of some of Luton’s oldest roads. It’s not as prestigious as other stadiums but it embodies what Luton is all about- heritage, resilience & community. See you at Wembley 🎩🧡
