Thanks for the quick reply. My understanding is that neither you or Malcolm Roberts voted against the laws. Is that correct? The criticism I've seen has been about the failure to vote against these laws. No one expects those votes to have altered the outcome but not turning up or abstaining is a bad look that I have not seen addressed (admittedly I could have missed that).

@tigerwilli85 I suspect the E Safety Commissioner will have a somewhat broader approach. Likewise those deeply concerned about Islamapobia and extremist Right wing views being major threats in Australia.

@Moxsycat @ForestMommy There was a music video clip many years ago that was borderline soft porn. The joke amongst some friends at the time that we had watched it 10 times to see just how bad it was.

@elonmusk The Holocaust museum is an important reminder. It may turn out that a Fauci museum has some importance.

@missrobinson Ending world hunger would take an extraordinarily tyrannical single government and the deaths of billions of people. Musk probably isn't wealthy enough yet to get that level of power. I hope that he isn't inclined to seek it.

@NurseMsBehaving @SecDuffy @FAANews @USDOT @NTSB Looking it up won't tell me which bit of Dem propaganda you are running with. Perhaps the stuff behind this
I know you’re lashing out because DOGE is uncovering your family’s obscene grifting via USAID, but I won’t let you lie and distort facts. The FAA administrator announced he resigned over a month before Trump took office, and the air traffic controllers were always exempt from Trump’s civil service buyouts. The previous administration shamelessly used USDOT as a slush fund for the Green New Scam, throwing away money and resources on wasteful environmental and social justice projects rather than updating our nation’s antiquated air traffic control systems and other critical infrastructure. I’m returning this department to its mission of safety by using innovative technology in transportation and infrastructure. Your team had its chance and failed. We’re moving on without you because the American people want us to make America’s transportation system great again. And yes, we’re bringing the 22-year-olds with us.

@NurseMsBehaving @SecDuffy @FAANews @USDOT @NTSB So you can't point to specific cuts that could have contributed.

@MaximusVesuvius @jkbdco @L0m3z I wonder how many kids have made a bunch of bad life choices based on the idea that they can be millionaire off game playing.

@NurseMsBehaving @SecDuffy @FAANews @USDOT @NTSB Just which aviation employee cuts were relevant to this?

Agreed. They have no chance where I am. My first preferencing then ahead of the LNP is for the most part a somewhat forlorn attempt to try and get the LNP to take notice that being Labor lite, that buying into WEF agendas, energy supply destruction schemes, the crap they were party to during CV19, vaxxs mandates, restricting access to Ivermectin, ongoing racist handover over public lands to indigenous groups etc are issues that I'm really opposed to. I'm not seeing any mechanism for that to help Labor or the Greens. I'd rather that the LNP better represented my views but that seems to be unlikely.

Still a bunch wrong. A variety of evidence has been out in public for a long time that should have at least raised questions. Possibly not absolute proof but enough that you should be wondering why no serious investigation. Have a better look into what is known of Fauci's role in funding of GOF research in Wuhan. Don't be deterred by Fauci trying to define GOF the way Bill Clinton defined "sexual relations". Have a browse at what's come up of Fauci's quashing of early expert advice that CV19 probably was from a lab. It seems very unlikely that Fauci actually believed in the wet market thing, it was a cover for what he didn't want known. Trump may have had special info as president but there was enough info out early to raise serious questions for anybody willing to question official narratives. Perhaps not enough early on to convict Fauci but enough to know his actions and claims did not add up.

@pambesteder @BehizyTweets Lib style 4 also includes something along the lines of "when the other side goes to fix this problem it will be the worst thing in the world".

The changed assessment probably has a political angle to it but that in no way clears the original rejection of the lab origin by a range of institutions of a political angle. There has been a strong body of evidence for the lab origin around for a long time and little for the bat soup version of the origin story. If nothing else the attempts by Fauci and others to try and hide the potential lab origins deserve serious scrutiny.

What's a safer choice look like? In Trumps first term it looks to me like a bunch of the key positions were filled by "safe" choices where safe meant safe for the status quo. How likely is that a genuinely more capable person who is also actually on board with the agenda that got Trump elected won't be subject to the same sort of smear campaign run against Hegseth and how likely are you not to have been convinced that they also were not a safe choice? Anybody with the potential to do a good job in this admin will be attacked as risky or worse. This admin was elected to be dangerous for the status quo and those that profit of the misery that statis quo needs to survive.

@thehitchmaster1 @alohasolace @AntonioGracias It's not really about reasoning with the fanatics. It's about those on the side who might be more open to considering different takes on an issue.
