All of the Staff at Higham on the Hill have a special message for you all. It’s been a really hard time for us too and we are missing seeing you all at school everyday. Stay safe, and we really hope we get to see you all very soon.

It was fabulous to have everyone back on our site yesterday. Thank you for all your hard work throughout the lockdown: teachers, staff, parents, carers and - most of all - children.

Our beautiful new library is now installed - all that's missing is our lovely books! We can’t wait to see our children enjoying their new space.

Temptation Snakes and Ladders! As part of our RE topic about rights and wrongs, Foxes thought of situations in which you could either ‘resist’ temptation or ‘give in’. Resist and up a ladder you headed. Give in and it was a slippery slide down a snake.
Happy Half Term everyone. Thank you to everyone for all their hard work this term - both children and adults alike. We look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 25th October.

Thank you to the student council and all the children and families that supported our charity work to raise money for those affected by the huge fires in Australia. Pyjamas and cakes made for a fantastic fundraising Friday feeling! Money raised announced in our next newsletter.
Celebrating successes today at Higham, with achievements of our last weeks cross country team being noted with brand new T-shirt’s funded by our generous PFA. Well done and thank you all!
Wishing all our families a very safe & restful Christmas filled with joy, peace and hope for 2021.

What a fabulous turn out for our Christmas Fair! Thank you to the Year 6 children than created and managed their own stalls, the PFA for all of their efforts and to the parents, grandparents, children and community that attended and supported us. We raised a whopping £1638.44!!!
The best learning and fun ever! Foxes today visited Pizza Express in Loughborough. They stretched dough, spread on tomato paste and sprinkled cheese. Then, of course, tasted their cooked pizzas! Brilliant!
Lots of skipping today thanks to JumpRope Uk. Skills and tricks have been taught and everyone is excited to practise for our own class competitions. The Sports Ambassadors have been shown some games they can play with playtime groups.
Congratulations to our

Wow! Some amazing fundraising for Children in Need organised by our student council. Thank you to all children that wore something funky and donated to our bring and buy cuddly toy sale. We raised an amazing £131.49!
What an amazing turn out for our Macmillan coffee morning this morning! A total of £147 raised!!! Thank you grandparents for coming and seeing our classes and joining us for a piece of cake afterwards. Thanks to Sarah and all the children, staff and parents that helped.
Well done Class 1 & 2 for being so amazing yesterday and quickly settling into our new ‘classroom’. I was quite moved to see little faces peering at me from the screen and to hear soft words of encouragement from parents, grandparents and support staff helping their children.
We’ve done it! It’s taken us all term, but we’ve finally finished Goodnight Mister Tom. We absolutely loved the story! Great characters and plot. Today we’ve been writing book reviews. Well worth a read.

WOW! Just look at some of the work being produced in reception. Miss Gostick and Mrs Bainbridge are so proud of these children.
They have all described where the animals are within the story of Handa's Surprise.

So lovely to read this as an answer in one of our ERIC reading starters: "All of the seasons are my favourites because I like the warmth of the summer, making snowmen in the winter, spring because it is my birthday and autumn because of bonfire night."

Mrs Penny and Mrs Jones received a lovely email from a parent to say ‘Thank You’ for the work that has been set. We just wanted to say how nice it is to know that it is appreciated. Keep up the good work, have fun and stay well. Mrs P and Mrs J
It's really important to look after your mental wellbeing: today we thought about things that are uplifting and might cheer us when times are tough.
What makes you happy?
A favourite book? 📚Flowers? 🌻Fresh air? The sun in the sky? 🌞

Class One visited our local church this week. We thank Mr Fowler for telling us so many interesting facts. Who can remember the name of this?
