Another great upcoming feature for players on Linux and macOS will be the ability to choose the platform when installing a game. So you will be able to install the Windows version of a game and use wine / crossover / proton to play :)

It seems that Epic is now requiring that you go to your account on their website and add your Birth Date there.
If you don't do that, you won't be able to download or play games with Heroic.
This change, of course, needed to happen just after a new Heroic release...

One feature we are currently working on right now is to show the current Anti-Cheat status of some games for Linux/SteamDeck (maybe macOS as well). So you can check the information before installing the game.

Congratulations on the release! the new UI looks fantastic. For those who don't know, HyperPlay is a Heroic fork, open source as well, and they are always contributing back to us with improvements, fixes, new features, etc.

We have just updated the Flatpak script so it contains some dependencies that were needed by Winetricks so it should work fine now. You should get a notification of a Heroic update on your distro Store on the stable channel and soon on the beta channel as well. Still v2.4 though

It seems the fix is simple. Just make sure you have Gamescope installed from flatpak. Heroic cannot use the one steam provides on the deck so you need to install it to make HDR work.

Some people are asking us why Star Wars Squadron is not appearing on their library.
The reason is because this game need to be downloaded and launched through Origin/EA app and this is not yet possible on Heroic.
We are investigating on how to support these games in the future.

Gamescope is such an AMAZING tool for gamers on Linux. We are working to add a setting for it in Heroic. But, even without it, it will simply work just fine by following a few small steps:

If you have encountered some bugs after updating to Heroic 2.5.0, try cleaning up the cache on Advanced settings or even resetting heroic (it will keep your login session and games). On Linux, creating a new wine prefix also does the trick.
