S10 was so good that it made me sad that Peter Capaldi was leaving so soon as for me it was here he hit his stride but ending on his highest ranked story the whole season was a triumph. I wanted more two Masters as well

It is this story that made the cancellation of the series a tragedy. The production team were beginning to get to grips with the story they wanted to tell and this does a fine job particularly with Ace's story arc. Great guest cast

A fine example of Terrence Dicks agility as a writer. His vampire script was staked so he whips up this claustrophobic piece of Edwardiana. The simple sets work perfectly & the imagery stayed with me and lured me to the books

For those people who weren't there its difficult to convey the excitement & impact of these episodes showing on a weekday at the end of episodes 1 and 4 I sat stunned staring at the TV. Later I began to deconstruct the story but it was amazing

After the horrors of S24 the unofficial 25th Anniversary story provides glimmers of hope for the traditional fans. There is a lot in here but I always feel that the adaptation elevated the story over what was on screen.

This was probably the perfect way to reintroduce the Dalek threat in S1. Start low key and have a single Dalek demonstrate the threat that it can be. This brilliant script also pull out the parallel between The Doctor and the lone Dalek. Great story

Series 17 is generally dismissed as being a low point of the Classic era but this gem stands out beautifully. The script is so on point and the visuals are a delight and given to a cast who know how to pitch the material. Exquisite!

This is incredibly ambitious. An abandoned London, a nuanced script from Malcolm Hulke and a vast array of prehestoric creatures as well as a traitor in UNIT. Probably the only justified six part story in that season.

The second worst crime you can commit is be a bit dull , parochial and twee. Ten normally fared well in the polls but this little piece of domestic horror did not get any plaudits. The very, very nauseating ending probably didn't help.

The lowest ranked story from S7. This is a modern tale of xenophobia, corruption and space travel. It is possibly overlong but it has those elements that makes this season a fan favourite. Lots of action and a sophisticated tone

This is a soft reboot for 12 and to introduce the set up for S10. Everything works together and there are some nice touches such as the photograph of Susan on the desk. Pearl Mackie is very likeable and works well with 12 & Nardole is endearing

There are problems with this one but it does not deserve to be this low. It provides a full conclusion to the Monk trilogy and gives Bill & Nardole a lot to do and the scenes with Missy in the vault are superb. Better on a rewatch
