What a pleasure it was to welcome @KirkleesMayor Madam Mayor on Friday. She came to congratulate us on our recent national awards and present us with a certificate of merit, which we are very grateful. She also enjoyed chatting with students and a tour of the school.

Our Year 12's had a very insightful and inspiring day at @WorcesterCollege Oxford yesterday. Huge thanks, as ever, go to Zoe and Lily in the Access and Outreach Department, who made us feel really welcome and gave our students lots to think about.

Last week we had an amazing guest speaker come into school to discuss life as a doctor. Dr A Riaz is a consultant urologist and provided such an insight into the profession and the different routes to being a consultant. Students had the opportunity to take part in some hands on activities involving suturing and using an endoscope, there was also a range of models for students to look at and were given a thorough overview of what types of medicine Dr Riaz practises. The students were all very thankful for such an interesting workshop. Thank you!

Yesterday we had a wonderful visit from Raidah Azam who came to speak to our students about a career in Dentistry and Maxillofacial surgery. The talk was inspiring and really educated our students on what a day in the life of someone in this career would be like. Students asked some amazing insightful questions. Thank you for giving up your time to speak with our students!

Massive thanks to Zoe, Megan and Zac from BAE systems who, in partnership with the RAF and Royal Navy, delivered a fantastic AI roadshow to our Y7 and Y8 students this morning as part of the STEM pathway programme. We met Lexi the cobot dog, created a music video for the next hit pop song about a cat flying through space, and found out more about how AI is revolutionising our world #AI
