🏀 WHERE MY NIGHT OWLS AT? Jalen Brunson “O” 27.5 Points (-120) ESPN Brunson is averaging THIRTY THREE POINTS over his last 7 meetings against Indiana, just absolutely owning this matchup. The Pacers do not have defensive focused guards, and just try to win games by outscoring the opponent. This game has an OU of 240, so we need at least one piece of it. I don’t have a ton else to say on this one, the history and the matchup is so good I can’t help but trust JB tomorrow.

I’m looking at this NBA slate tomorrow 😍 Walker Kessler “O” 21.5 PRA (-105)MGM Kessler just hit this line with his rebounds alone last game, and now he faces a Lakers team that currently has Jaxson Hayes slated as their starting center. There’s a good bet that the Lakers could experience some dysfunction in their first game with three ball-dominant starters, and I highly doubt LA shows much interior defense. Give me Kessler to dominate down low.

It seems almost irrelevant to discuss matchup stats, as Wemby is a positional mismatch against anyone, but Washington is allowing the MOST ppg to centers in the league. I also love the fact that we’re buying low after two off shooting nights in a row from Wemby. With an implied point total of 237.5, Wemby is due for a huge game.

NBA play #3 for 2/10 🏀 Jamal Murray “O” 21.5 Pts (-115)FD This feels like a smash spot for Murray, as the blazers excel in selling out to defend the paint. They’re a top half defense against centers, but they allow the 3rd most ppg to point guards and 2nd most ppg to shooting guards. Russ is still out for Denver, and a number of other key players are questionable. This feels like a spot where Jokic plays facilitator and Murray eats.

🏀 Welcome to LA! NBA Play #3 Luka Doncic “O” 7.0 Assists (-137) PP This is playable on most books at 7.5, but since I’m sure the majority of you guys (and ourselves) are on DFS apps, I figured I’d share the PrizePicks line here. We’ve seen a few instances in the last week of guys coming to their new team and becoming a major facilitator right out of the gate. Fox put up 13 assists, and AD had 7 in only 26 minutes. Luka is a better passer than both of them, and now he gets a great matchup. Utah is dead last in a TON of defensive metrics, and assists to guards is one of them. Can’t wait to see what Luka does tonight, and I hope it’s a lot of passing.

🏀 Where my night owls at? Anfernee Simons “O” 19.5 Points (-115) DK This Portland team has been playing some really solid basketball of late, and a big part of that is because of contributions from Simons. Dude has been all over the court and has been more aggressive in finding his shot, which is perfect for this matchup. Denver has been giving up a TON of points, and I love trusting volume in this one. I’ve seen guys like CJ McCollum drop 30 on Denver recently, and all we need is 20 from a guy who is a more prolific scorer than CJ. He’s over this line in 4 straight against the Nuggets, no reason he can’t make it 5 tomorrow night.

KC has allowed some big RB receiving games of late, and we saw James cook take multiple catches for big gains last week. In past super bowls, RB’s for the opposing team have gone for the following against the Chiefs CMC: 8/80 Kenneth Gainwell: 4/20 Leonard Fournette: 4/46 Kyle Juzyzcyk: 3/39 With the Eagles 2 stud WR’s, Kansas City will play to keep the ball in front of them. I see a lot of scenarios tomorrow where Hurts has no choice but to dump it off. On top of that, there’s no way Philly doesn’t have some screens dialed up to get the ball in 26’s hands. Just too many ways to go over for this dude, trust him tomorrow.

ONE MORE NBA PLAY TODAY 🏀 Jalen Duren “O” 10.5 Rebounds (-122) PCL Well the Hornets have Mark Williams back? I think? But he definitely won’t be playing in this one. Since his departure we’ve seen some big rebound games from opponents, and tomorrow feels no different. This game is gonna be ugly, tons of misses both ways and just not a lot of offense overall. Duren is the perfect guy to bully whoever Charlotte has in the paint, and clean up all the bricks from 2 inconsistent offenses.

HE IS INEVITABLE 🏈 Best bet for #SuperBowlLIX Chiefs -1 (-105)ESPN It is written. Scriptwriters have already decided this. Taylor Swift gets what she wants. Either the Chiefs win, or they can’t find a way and the refs do it for them. In all seriousness, when it comes to playoffs, there are a select few players who, when they’re in crunch time, all matchups get thrown out the window, all odds get forgotten and the player just wills his way to victory. Pat Mahomes is on that shirt list. We saw it against Hurts, then Purdy. The Super Bowl isn’t about matchups, it’s about plays. There will be a handful of plays that will decide this game, and Mahomes is one of the elite few that can quite literally DECIDE to make those plays. When it comes down to it, it’s about quarterback play, and I trust Hurts to out duel Mahomes about as much as I trust Kendrick Lamar to be respectful of Drake tomorrow at halftime. And I didn’t even mention that key Philly players are currently battling illnesses. Bottom line: the Mahomes factor exists, and it’s only amplified in a high pressure environment. Believe me, I hate this as much as you do. I bet on KC, and I’ll STILL be rooting for Philly tonight. But sadly, it’s just not going to happen…
