The need to make space activities more sustainable - and protect the assets we rely on for essential services - has been a consistent thread across @IAC2024 this week. I’m proud to see Australia taking steps to develop our policy, and I’d encourage you to contribute your voice.
We want to hear from you to help shape a potential policy for Australian sustainability of space activities. Make a submission and register for the public information session here: The consultation will close on Friday, 8 November 2024.

A wonderful result for Europe and @esa this morning with the launch of #Ariane6 Congratulations to all partners involved - access to space is critical to maintain the essential space-enabled services used every day on Earth.
Europe is back in space! #Ariane6 demonstrated a successful liftoff, launch to orbit and deployment of satellites powering Europe into space. The tech-demo phase of Ariane 6 is still in progress but has shown an unexpected result which will only affect the end of the mission. A press conference will be held at 23:30 BST/00:30 CEST 👉

Thrilled to participate in the launch of @Aus_ScienceWeek. Today I had the opportunity to highlight how space technology, like @fleetspace's ExoSphere, is critical in addressing some of our greatest challenges.
"Space tech that's being developed right here in Aus is accelerating our transition to clean energy and really powering the economy." @HeadSpaceAU Enrico Palermo at our National #ScienceWeek launch event.

Nearly three decades allowing the world to explore the universe and deliver space technologies to support our lives on Earth. Congratulations to @esa and its partners on an incredible run of the #Ariane5 rocket - making inspirational ideas and space technologies a reality.
Bowing out in style, Europe’s #Ariane 5 rocket has completed its final flight, placing @DLR_de's Heinrich Hertz and the French Syracuse 4B satellites into their planned geostationary transfer orbits 👉

The projects being supported through this program show the many ways that space improves our lives, and can make our industries stronger and more dynamic.
(1/2) We’re investing almost $40 million in 10 projects as part of the Demonstrator Mission Grants under our Moon to Mars initiative. 🚀 This funding will boost the capability of 🇦🇺 Australia’s space sector to support future global space missions like Artemis.

We often refer to space as the gateway to STEM and this program is the perfect example. Looking forward to the remainder of the state and territory showcases, before the national final at our Discovery Centre in October.
We love how space 🚀 can get kids excited about STEM & all its possibilities. Read about how the Kids in Space program is reaching the remotest parts of 🇦🇺. The Agency and @AndyThomasSpace are proud sponsors of the program, delivered by @MakersEmpire

The Transporter-8 mission launch is a testament to the growth and maturity of Australia’s space sector. This will continue advancing Australia’s flight heritage to demonstrate the ingenuity and know-how we can offer the global space industry. Congratulations to all involved.
The launch of today's @SpaceX Transporter-8 mission was a special one, with several Australian technologies on board 🇦🇺🚀 Congrats Skykraft on sending up another Air Traffic Management satellite stack, and companies such as @NeumannSpace that also had hardware on the launch.

Congratulations @fleetspace This a great example of how @AusSpaceAgency continuing Moon to Mars program is helping set Australian space companies on a path to financial sustainability and revenue streams outside of Government.
Australian space technology is continuing to draw the attention of global 🌏 investors. @fleetspace has secured a further $50m in Series C Funding to take their innovative, 🇦🇺 designed mining solution, ExoSphere to the world. Read our case study:

This is a vital milestone that will further grow Australia’s space sector. We have worked hard on a TSA that protects US technology while supporting the commercial ambitions of Australia’s developing launch sector.
We’ve reached in-principle agreement with the United States on a Technology Safeguards Agreement. Announced by @AlboMP & @POTUS on the sidelines of the G7, the TSA will allow for the transfer of US space technology, including rockets & satellites, to be launched from Australia.

It’s great to connect after last week’s Budget, to talk about how far our industry has come and how we navigate the path ahead. As I said in my speech, we have a long way to go but we’ve gone from standing on stage taking about “what ifs” and “we could” to “we are”.
Great to be at the Australian Space Summit. ✨ In his opening address, @HeadSpaceAu provided an industry update and overview of the current landscape of the Australian space industry. Looking forward to connecting with industry across the day and at tonight’s awards.
