This was probably the most challenging thing I worked on the entire project, it kinda looks like the manifestation of how I felt while I worked on it (dont ask me about the retopology)
Hi, here's my latest character! A bust based on FKA Twigs. Had lots of fun with this one and really pleased with how she turned out!

Been looking through
@UnicornDevGames
amazing character art workshop and have to rave about this book recommendation! I ordered it straight away and know I’m gonna get so much use out of it, thankyou!! 🤩
Me finally working out a way to do plaits that aren't stupid amount of polys: yippie!
Me remembering I need to break down and explain how I got there: not yippie
Beware, its ugly!
I made a little breakdown/tutorial of my dreadlocks for my previous character. Its not mega in depth but I hope it helps some people! Hit me up if you have any questions!

Put together a little visual breakdown of how I examine my references to create my hair textures! (haven't made the hair yet so you're going to have to trust me)
@Evanylaaa
I can't speak too much to lead/principle but these were some of my characters at various stages in my career:
Pirate: graduate, 0 industry 3 years university
Geralt: junior, approx 2 years exp
Twigs: regular/mid level approx 3/4 years
Orc: senior approx 5/6 years
Locs tutorial is here! I put a lot of love into this one, locs are one of my favourite hairstyles and I wanted to shine a bit of a light on their complexity and beauty!
Huge thankyou to
@TheCartelDel
@JeryceDia
@wellington3dart
and Shiloh Ragins for their help and feedback
Been quiet with the WIPs on this one but she's done!
Based on this gorg concept by Filipe Pagliuso:
Check out my artstation for more pics as always ☺️

New project alert, basing it on this gorgeous design by
@heyjenbartel
Early blockout, wanted to go back to something more modern. Can't wait to get to that hair 😍
Not sure what took me so long but I've put up the marmoset scene for my Forest Elf's hair to go along with the tutorial I made a couple of years ago:
Intended for educational use:
Its been just over a year since I committed to being a hair artist, it was quite a scary decision since I worried I'd be cutting off a huge part of my career but its been one of the most rewarding things I've done. Can't wait to eventually share some of the professional work too!
So excited to share my beloved Boromir remake! LoTR is very dear to me so I had to have him back in my portfolio.
As always artstation for more juicy pics/breakdowns and a before/after:
Hope you like him ☺️
Finally some progress 🙌 I've been busy at this for a while trying to iterate and improve on my technique with more of a focus on 'modern' locs with fresh re-twists. Super early days just blocking in the main locs but wanted to share! Feedback as always is welcome
Doing my final renders (will post soon) but thought I'd share the lil hair highlight. Super happy with how this turned out! Tri count could definitely be lower but optimisation is no fun ;)
Completed Chani's hair! Finally got to grips with UE5 with this one and I'm really pleased with how it turned out! Check it out on artstation for all the resolution goodness
Fade first pass/proof of concept! Going to go back into the groom and refine the transition between shorter/longer and tidy up the hairline a little. Too excited not to share!
Lil WIP on the hair tutorial! Happy with how its going, I'm about half way through I'd say. Very stressful making the tutorial as I go and not being sure how the final art is even going to turn out but I'm feeling more confident now 🎉
I didn't get as much done over christmas as I'dve liked due to a PC upgrade but I'm BACK.
The hair is pretty much done now minus some final tweaks I might make so now its time to put together the tutorial!
Finished my latest realtime hair! Was a fun challenge, there's definitely things I'd do differently but I'm looking forward to doing more and pushing this technique!
Breakdown is on my artstation:
It's happening! Wrapping up this hairstyle and working on the breakdown (to be posted free on my artstation) Its been a really rewarding experience, I'm already thinking about how I'd do it better so expect more!
Just a little update, hoping to get this done over christmas! I've decided to shelve the video version of this tutorial and focus on the text/image version for my own sanity
Some orc lady progress. Been doing some trial and error with her design, bought some animal skull scans to help make the process quicker, subject to change!
Starting something newww, have every intention of starting a new game character but also really wanted to print something 😬 v early blockout but I like the direction its going in!
Pondering my next video tutorial- I'm thinking something like 'pushing the realism of your realtime hair'? My biggest pet peeve is beautifully made hair that just looks like 'game hair'. I obviously don't want to call out people's work so the best example I can give is this:
Its the glowup for me 😭 Hair was something I always wanted to be good at and it was so embarrassing when I couldn't get it right. I'm still not quite where I'd like to be but I've come a long way 🥺
Time for another bust! Wanna make this all pretty like my Twigs bust but for now I'm just plotting out the style painting over what I've got so far. Face is based heavily on a scan, still subject to change!
Close! Been trying to go over and do a detail pass- hard to know what to sculpt and what to leave to texturing. She definitely needs an overall scar pass and then its time for retopology 😬
Honestly feels weird to be working on personal work when the world is the way it is but 🤷♀️ Started on something a little different, got big aspirations for this project!
I did it! 3 day weekend hair speedrun, really pleased with this one all things considered. Sacrificed some bits for the sake of getting it done in 3 days but for the purpose its serving it works 🙏
My tutorial has been marked down considerably on all available platforms because it will soon be coming out *in full* on youtube *for free*. If you pay for the files you still get the videos and all of the working files to go along with it
