Bangladesh 🇧🇩, 16th July, 2024. Abu Sayed, an unarmed student protester standing in the line of police fire. He would be shot dead within 30 seconds of this scene. Abu Sayed's martyrdom led to the movement gaining momentum, eventually leading to the end of the autocratic regime.

After half a decade of living in the US, the last culture shock I continue to experience - and one I'll probably never get over - is the fact that no one cares about international events. And by international events I of course mean cricket/football world cups
