@bobloch At least you got a sub! Mine emailed me at 11:19 saying the city decided to pave her street snd she wasn’t going to make her 11:45 start time. 🤦♀️

@bobloch My dad said something similar, albeit more tactful. We compared paid time off and he realized it was almost the same amount as me, but he had the flexibility to use it when he wanted, I did not. Then we talked about my continuing education requirements. I won.

@JustinAion I have always wished legislatures who pass the use of these assessments actually had to take them first.

Today, I won at #distanceteaching. There’s that one kid who never answers, always stays long after class ends. Today, I played the Tellitubbies theme song on loop. 40 minutes later, he signed out. I won because I giggled the whole 40 minutes! #simplepeople #onlinelearning #CDL

@Mathowitz Hillsboro, OR. High school. We are also offering a fully online option for students who feel more comfortable with that, too.

@Youmeant2say @jpetroroy It’s impossible to truly accurately quantify this. If we don’t go back in person how many kids will die from Suicide or domestic violence? DHS calls have dropped. Suicides across all age groups have gone up. There’s no perfect solution and this is a hard place in a weird time!

@KLormand11 @jpetroroy working remotely was better for us than our students. I’m still not sure I feel safe going back but the mental health decline of my own kids was rough to watch! For years teachers begged to be considered essential. Now we’ve arrived but we don’t wanna. Is this really our best?

@SoutheastSchLib @jpetroroy True but we will be with the same people as opposed to thousands of others. We are also told we will have smaller class sizes because some students are opting for full online. I’m still not sure I’m comfortable going back I just feel like we have to be honest with ourselves.

@neverliz @jpetroroy None of it’s the same. My state, my building, my climate is diff than yours. We aren’t going to have a perfect solution for all schools. I’m not sure I feel safe going back but we have to be careful about what we ask for and why when we ask essential workers to work every day.
