It's fascinating how much lighting can affect the look of a game. The left image shows the current look after updating the lighting shaders in my game, the right one is the same scene before the changes. The tiles got retouched a bit as well. #indiedev

@Ready2RunGames Hehe yep, it's always fun to get conflicting feedback. Result: do nothing? But this one actually might not be conflicting. Maybe the former wants to grow the size of the flash, and the latter wants the light intensity to be lower? Also, is screen flash same as muzzle flash?

@RedDuelist @DarkisDucrest That'd be awesome if you could share your list. I'll be in contact with you about that soon 👍

@RedDuelist @DarkisDucrest This means I will need to curate the next 50 curators with much better care, as I don't want to waste the rest of them since it means I wouldn't be able to send more keys to curators who would actually want to play and review the game.

@zachbussey For anyone interested in keeping the Game Developer chat badge alive, please see the X thread & Twitch UserVoice suggestion by @AmallahGaming that proposes ways to keep the badge relevant.
is a far better idea than removing the badge entirely if this was the main issue Twitch had with it. I've submitted this feedback to Twitch's UserVoice, and if you like the idea, please consider upvoting it to get Twitch's attention. (10/11)

@ShotgunAnaconda Pro tip: when you see a game dev, click into their profile and go & like one of their posts so X knows what kind of content you prefer 😼

@TeamScionica @PirateSoftware @zachbussey @CohhCarnage @AbleGamers Agree with both sides here. Simple solution, albeit too late: Keep the dev badge otherwise as it was, but if the badge is associated with the current game category, have it turn golden or some other flashy color to catch the attention in chat.

Exactly, it's not so straightforward. You also have to account that Steam is doing marketing for your game and marketing always has a cost. The more you have to market low quality games that might not sell well, the less ad space you have available for others that could make more money. Raising the bar would free up more space as there's less noise - even $1000 could be a reasonable barrier for entry since you'll get it back anyway.

@Piratoos_Game Brilliant idea for motivation! Also love the "Game name?" at the top, it's clever 😁

It's probably not a good idea due to getting less visibility, but I can see some merit to it. I'm quite sure there are more people visiting the Steam store in general during the first days of Next Fest and are looking for new games to play. Next Fest only features demos, so you can't really get new full version games from the fest alone. If your newly released game happens to get blessed by the discovery queue, it might find the right audience faster if more people are searching the queue (not sure if that's the case during Next Fest, though). Plus, others might avoid releasing during fests and you'll possibly be on top of the new releases list for longer. Still, the cons likely outweigh the pros but those are something that came to mind.

@MoepMop Hah, I get the same feeling at first, but in the end it's often much more enjoyable than what you had expected. You just need to mentally prepare yourself for it, and even if it goes haywire, at least you're there to record the issue(s) and comment that it's being investigated.

@MikkiHEL Maybe your posts were back-to-back in their feed or something :) anyway, funny enough that they did not think to double check despite going through all that effort!
