On Sunday, August 25, 2024, at approximately 9:45 a.m., a white pick-up truck, possibly mid 2000's Chevrolet, was involved in a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian, in the 8000 block of Walnut Grove Road. We are asking anyone with details to contact us at 804-365-6140.

***TRAFFIC ALERT***
Due to a serious crash at the intersection of Ashland Rd and Cedar Ln, the intersection is closed. Vehicles will not be able to turn onto Ashland from Cedar, and traffic will not be able to pass through Ashland Rd. School transportation has been made aware.

Our Motorist Assist Unit took possession of their new rides today! With that came some training on the upgraded bells and whistles. This special group of volunteers is very deserving and we can’t thank them enough for the time they volunteer and selflessly give to our community!

From VDOT, ALL LANES CLOSED ON INTERSTATE 95 at mile marker 91.8. Both North and South on 95 are closed near the town of Ashland due to downed power lines.

A Flood Watch for our area begins at 8 pm tonight and is projected to last until August 10 at 12 am. Though it seems much of heavier rain is shifting west, we will still receive a significant amount of rain in a short period of time. Please exercise caution and good judgement.
