Unless the
@Conservatives
are suggesting that eveyone will get photo ID for free in the Queens Speech, insisting on having it to vote in a General Election is putting democracy behind a pay wall.
I have the police coming to my house tomorrow following personal threats to the safety of myself, my friends and my family.
I am standing up for what I believe in. When did we lose the ability to do that. Honestly heartbroken
#GeneralElection19
It's election year.
I'll be running against Helen Whatley in my home town and helping everywhere I can to get this lot out.
I absolutely cannot wait to watch them lose.
As the
@LibDems
prospective Parliamentary candidate for Faversham and mid kent I have 1k followers. The incumbent Conservative MP has 10.5k. I'd like to even that up a little so please RT and 🇪🇺💛
I find the trash talk about Jo Swinson being centred around her seeming “cocky” or “sneery” or “stuck up” really interesting . Anyone would think that powerful women make people deeply uncomfortable or something?
Absolutely delighted to announce that have been selected to fight the next General Election for the Liberal Democrats in my home seat of Faversham and Mid Kent having. A huge thank you to the local members that supported me.
Let's go!
We can win here. We can win Faversham and mid Kent. It has been considered a Conservative safe seat for years but with Boris Johnson at the helm and the threat of Brexit its about time the seat was not so safe.
The
@LibDems
are ready. I'm ready
I've spent the whole of 2019 being told "you can't beat the Tories here" and proving that assumption wrong.
I have an excellent team of friends, colleagues, councillors, supporters and members and a fire in my belly.

With isolation requirements set to end in England soon, lets try and be mindful that for a lot of people this will be horribly worrying and that others haven't processed all the trauma of the past two years and are just not ready for the old normal.
#CovidIsNotOver
Without the suffragette movement, who were undoubtedly "annoying" for the Government we wouldn't have a vote, and Helen whately would not be an MP. Yet she supported the police Bill.
The right to peaceful protest is our right. It is not theirs to restrict or take away
I'm sunburned, I can't feel my feet and I am exhausted but it's been a fun campaign and I am delighted and humbled to be returned as a councillor for Abbey Ward
Stunt by the Lib Dems & SNP this morning looks like it’s come a cropper with Johnson stealing idea for own purposes.The Lib Dems & SNP may have given up on a People’s Vote. We haven’t. It’s the only way to resolve this issue and stand any chance of bringing country back together.
Papers have been accepted and I'm officially running in my home consistency of Faversham and Mid Kent again. It's a privilege to stand for a fair deal for our community.

I've put £1million in a fund to provide grants of £5k - £20k to small UK charities who are doing/want to do immediate Coronavirus poverty relief.
Please share to let any charities who may want to apply know.

Have a word with yourself Andrew. You've posted this on the day that your party will be voting on whether or not to remove the universal credit uplift which could push 500,000 people into poverty, 200,000 of which will be children.
For obvious reasons this didn't get a lot of coverage yesterday but I want to make it very clear that there will be women reading this, who haven't reported things that have happened to them, because they don't see the point. Shame on the Conservatives.
If everyone could keep a little bit of space in their hearts for my newly diagnosed SEN daughter in her first day at her new school I would really appreciate it.
I am beyond anxious for her.
Can we stop writing about the PM and how his illness has changed him and start writing about why our medical and care staff still don't have the protection that they need?.

"a vote for the Lib Dems is a vote for the tories"
Except when that vote elects a Lib Dem County Councillor, 11 Town councillors, 5 Borough councillors and an MEP.
A vote for the
@LibDems
here is a vote against Brexit and for a brighter future
The Government banning volunteer delivery of poltical literature whilst insisting that the elections will go ahead is, in my opinion, a subversion of democracy hidden behind public health concern.
In the General election 2019 someone sent me a letter threatening to burn my house and the house of my campaign manager down. Piers Corbyn might seem like just a crank but what he has said is incitement and should be taken very seriously.
Dear guy that sends me hate mail.
I don't mind being called a "Brexit traitor c#
@t
"
But I am deeply opposed to being called "wishy washy".
I'm quite clear about wanting to

Papers are in and I'm officially up for re-election.
I've worked really hard over the past 4 years and I hope that residents can support me again on May 4th
#LocalElections2023
Just to say a massive thank you to everyone from across the political spectrum for your kind support. The party and the police have been incredible and I'll continue to go out and campaign for what I believe in.
Thank you all

My "robust and passionate debate" stance is that transphobia flies in the face of Liberalism and that "gender critical" views are dehumanizing and awful.
Delighted to have been elected as group leader for the Swale Borough Council
@LibDems
for this civic year. Many thanks to
@BenMartin_LD
for steering the ship for the past 4 years.
Excited to see what our group can achieve
Don't think Rishi Sunak was aware that a boat filled with Lib Dems popped up behind him on the campaign trail today...
And I'm pretty sure that's the Lib Dem Deputy Leader, Daisy Cooper on it too...
All opposition political parties should be shouting from the rooftops about the dire financial situation that local councils find themselves in. They provide absolutely crucial services and support initiatives that enrich hundreds of thousands of lives.
I've copped an absolute barrage of abuse this weekend and as much as I adore being a local councillor, sometimes it is incredibly disheartening. I'm just a person.
Council meetings going back to in person, difficult not to feel increasingly disenfranchised. This week I'll miss 3 meetings, due to caring commitments, that I could have attended virtually.
This was the case before the pandemic but it feels like a kick in the teeth now
Faversham is a kind and giving place. The Town council recently voted to become a Sanctuary Town and in the past has worked with refugee solidarity groups to advocate for their safety and dignity.
Last night our MP voted for the Rwanda policy. We all deserve better.
December 12th we will go to the polls. I promise each and every one of you that I will fight this with everything I have. I have never done anything half heartedly and I'm not about to start now. Let's take the fight to the

More & more people are talking to me about the General Election. I'll be running to unseat Helen Whatley.
If you can help deliver leaflets, donate towards the campaign or help in any other way please do get in touch. We will need enthusiasm, energy & fighting spirit,
Let's go
Voting down the cross party ammendment to help reunite unaccompanied child refugees with families in the UK is appalling.
Dispicable callousness from the
@Conservatives
It's taken the best part of two years, a lot of tears and at times it's been a lonely, uphill battle but today my 12 year old was diagnosed autistic and will now have a chance to better understand who they are and access support
It shouldn't be like this for our SEN kids.
@Helen_Whately
This is utterly disappointing and shockingly unsurprising. I was really genuinely rooting for you to either not support him, or to just keep quiet on it.
Apalling
We need more women at the top of politics. Sadly, we sometimes end up with a man who thinks they can do a better job but aren’t really up to it. Not that I had anyone in mind...
It felt special on the doorstep. I was a bit nervous to believe it.
Everyone who worked on that campaign is an absolute star
So many congratulations
@SarahGreenLD
You'll be an amazing MP

Someone told me this morning that if I don't want to read abuse about myself maybe I shouldn't stand as a politician.
Whats he's missed there is that that is bullying.
Not only did I get verbally abused this evening but a business owner got told to "go home"...
Our town is better than this.
As a local councillor I will do everything in my power to heal these wounds this is completely unacceptable, racist behaviour
Here we see the tell tale signs of the incredibly rare Abbey Ward Conservative in the wild. A sleepy species, they have been known to hibernate for anywhere up to 4 years at a time, waking only for the two weeks before an election.
I lost my grandma in the early hours of this morning. We were due to visit this week having not seen her throughout the pandemic.
She was a feisty, hilarious, whiskey drinking matriarch and I will miss her deeply.
Spent most of today in hospital after my body had a meltdown. A&E majors and minors were absolutely full, with queues coming out the door. All the staff were excellent and lovely but they were so out numbered and they said it's like that every day. Heros the lot of them.
If I can say on the 13th "there's nothing more I could have done" then that is all I can ask. I have had incredible support and the team will forever have a special place in my heart.
Faversham and mid kent deserves better. Final push
#GeneralElection2019
Matt Hancock crowing on about how we are out of the pandemic because Boris Johnson made the right calls, on the day both my clinically vulnerable parents test positive is just 👌
I tried to listen to the prime minister but then he said that anyone arriving in small boats would be detained and swiftlet removed.
That flies in the face of the 1951 refugee convention and the rhetoric is gross.
