Banning. Access. To. Abortion. Does. Not. Lower. Abortion. Rates. It simply lowers SAFE abortion rates. How many times must this be explained through data, history, and lived experiences? I'm so tired.
If I were a comms director I would simply just *not* attempt to make fun of Jamie Raskin while he is being treated for cancer while continuing to serve his constituents without missing a beat.
Less than ~5% of PP’s budget goes directly toward abortion services. If you really want to help, now is the time to give to local abortion clinics and orgs providing abortion services who are entirely overwhelmed and desperate for additional funding, staff, & resources.
Still absolutely in awe of ”meeting”
@HillaryClinton
yesterday. I can definitively say that
@GUPolitics
was the best experience I’ve had during my time as a graduate student at Georgetown. Tremendously grateful.

served as Transition Aide and Deputy Campaign Manager for the Don Davis for NC campaign. She was a math teacher and a Teach for America alumna. Spengler has a bachelor’s degree from George Washington Univ. and master’s degree from Georgetown Univ.
The House offices are filled with people silently walking the halls in straitjackets and light-up glasses.
I asked if it’s a protest but they indicated they’re not allowed to speak.
This team knocked it out of the park. The hard work & dedication they showed through wks of planning & 5 long days of counting was inspiring
Special shout out 2 Rod O’Connor

Thank you all!

Dr. Fauci to

: “So I hope this kind of tension between the United States and the WHO, somehow or other, ultimately gets settled in a favorable way. Because the world does need a WHO for outbreaks like this, even for the general health of the globe to coordinate it.”

Reminds me of the time Bloomberg credited his “hard work” for his wealth/success. Which would mean the top 1 percent of the 1 percent are somehow working….billions and billions of times harder than everyone else then? Mathematically laughable on so many levels.
(I personally feel loved and cared for when a friend asks me to text them when I get home safely, and I’m now intrigued that there are folks, however few, who perceive it negatively? What an odd world we live in.)
To be clear: PP does great work around reproductive rights and access to abortion, however, they also tend to receive the most $$$ when national attention is brought to these issues, leaving local services behind to fend for themselves.
“According to Jenny Egan, a juvenile public defender in Baltimore, 94% of white children’s cases are transferred from criminal to juvenile court compared to 22% of Black children.”
Thrilled to announce our team has grown by 3! We are happy to officially welcome our Washington, D.C. summer interns to the office today. Say hello👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 to Cierra, Saahil, and Alice!

@lauriebuckhout

Making the choice to ban a book such as the *checks notes* Webster’s American English Dictionary from a prison so perfectly illustrates the societal cruelty we continue to practice—more often than not by design, especially when it comes to folks who are incarcerated.
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED what books are banned in your state's prison system? After a YEAR of records request, today we
@MarshallProj
published a searchable database of all the banned books list we could get our hands on - more than 54,000 titles.
Me: *struggles in dramatic fashion to lift my obnoxiously heavy purse at the building security scanners*
Security guard: “what do you have in there today, rocks?!”

We cannot take ANY rights for granted. We cannot think anything is permanently protected. We cannot assume anything will be off-limits for these people. Time to play defense and offense.
Made my return to the DC brunch scene today at one of my favorite spots. It was delightful. As you can tell, I’m not indecisive whatsoever when it comes to ordering.
I don’t think I will ever get over the fact that I made 23k/year as a public high school STEM teacher. It has BEEN time to pay our educators what they are owed.
@Zeke_Cohen
If everyone is masked (they are), there is ventilation (there is) and regular testing (there is) it is a logistical nightmare to do testing before starting school.Omicron is not magic. These measures will prevent school from being the source of spread.
Since being elected to Congress, I've advocated for life-saving coverage for nearly 100,000 people in ENC.
By relaunching the State Medicaid Expansion Caucus, I’ll work to advance expanding Medicaid for those trapped in their state’s current coverage gap.
Did I fully dress up for an event I know damn well I will just be watching on a tv screen in my office while inhaling pizza and Red Bull? Yes. But do I regret it? Also yes.

deserved mental health intervention services, not a death sentence from OKCPD. Please reach out to these local elected officials in OKC to demand accountability, and change.

Tonight, I told my friends there’s an ‘80s movie that probably has a niche fan base but I just don’t think it’s that good? They’ve guessed probably 30 movies, so far, none of them the movie I’m thinking about. This is a fascinating activity on perspective.

is running for Congress in NC against a literal insurrectionist, who was proudly in DC on January 6th. Please RT & follow his account so we can reach as many voters as possible before the election to keep this seat blue!

I’ll be honest: losing an election is nothing short of devastating. And regardless of any imagined hypothetical outcomes, nothing can truly prepare you for an end result in which your candidate, the one you know in your heart to be the best person for the job, comes up short.
The NC Mayors are in town! I enjoyed having the opportunity today to discuss local issues and how we can partner together to work effectively on behalf of the people.

Please make sure to join me in wishing
@DonDavisNC
a very happy 52nd birthday today! Thank you for being an amazing servant-leader, role model, and boss.
Public money is for public schools. As governor, I'll end the BOOST voucher program and invest those millions into the schools and students that need it most.
Happy to report I am officially at the “sit in a McDonald’s parking lot with a melting McFlurry while ruminating over things endlessly” part of the election cycle.
Happy birthday to the best boss,
@DonDavisNC
! Here’s to another lap around the sun, and more incredible work ahead together for the people of North Carolina’s 1st congressional district.
I mentioned to my mom that she could be more intentional about supporting me. She has since made that change by aggressively “liking” all of my posts on Facebook. So that’s...progress?
I will always be extraordinarily grateful for the shared time together on this campaign. So yes, “losing” this election was hard, but it is profoundly more important to understand what has been won. Onward, upward, and forever
