I welcome this unscheduled visit to the medical center, and yes, to all uncharitable critics, THE GOVT CAN NOT DO THIS ALONE.
1am this morning I paid an unscheduled visit to our Medical Center, disguised, to assess for myself, the true state of the facility especially the A and E/ surgical Wards; without any cosmetic. Whew. While a lot has been achieved in the institution, a lot of work is really needed to turn the center to a model health institution. We are grateful to all the legislators who have donated additional infrastructure to us; but we need a total overhaul of our A & E/ward. The next phase of my external engagement on behalf of the FMC includes meeting with stakeholders from our ministerial leaders to the private sector who can support and partner with us. The government cannot do it alone. May I call on well meaning Nigerians to Please come and adopt some of our buildings and renovate. Come to Macedonia and help us.

LMAO! 🤣 see cooking. I like malam, though.
DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY. WHAT WILL BE WILL BE: Dear Imran @IU_Wakilii Your post below refers. I have been hearing these same rumors of arrest, detention and torture in some dungeon in the NSA’s office (where Emefiele was allegedly tortured to resign as CBN governor), since July 2024 when the so-called report of the Kaduna Assembly began circulating. They freaked out when we challenged the legality of the premeditated defamation, and went to every length to compromise the judicial process, and this is continuing at the Court of Appeal. They have sent such similar messages of intimidation and threats through many of my friends, family and political associates because they want me to go on self-imposed exile. I will not. I have now put all my previous academic and language-learning plans on hold and will spend more time in Nigeria than ever before. Silence is no longer golden. Inaction has never been an option. The arrest, detention and torture of perceived political enemies are nothing new in human affairs. I have been arrested and detained thrice in the past for expressing my views of previous governments. There is always a morning after the arrest or detention or torture, and political life continues. As for death, it when Allah destines it, and it is ultimate the date of every human. For the attention of the pathetic characters that don’t sleep well whenever I am in Nigeria, take notice that I intend to return in time for the launch of Pres IBB’s memoirs, in sha Allah, scheduled for 20th February. We depend on no one but Allah. We fear no mortal but Almighty Allah. We always hope for the best but plan for the worst. Thanks @IU_Wakilii for your concern, but, remember that what will be, will always be. Nasir @elrufai Cairo, Egypt

My takeaway: DON'T COMMIT ANY CRIME. 10 years is enough time to change the trajectory of a young, promising life
Life imprisonment does not mean that the person will be in prison for the rest of their or till they die. Once the person serves 20-25years, approximately 10 calendar years, they are entitled to be released. Also, it’s not in all cases that manslaughter attracts life sentence. The court may/can exercise its discretion to impose a lesser sentence on the convict, and there’s an apex court authority on this.

@O_ssai @the_davidatta Did he mention anything about reparations, though? I think you're reading his post differently. Unless I'm the one not understanding the intention. But yes, to how I'm reading this; the British govt spent money fighting slavery and that includes paying slave owners

@O_ssai @the_davidatta Much of the monies were the military cost of funding the British navy and also paying slave owners in the US and other European countries still engaging in slavery. I don't know if they paid money to the African slave owners. Haven't read that bit

@O_ssai @the_davidatta He's right about Britain stopping global slavery though, especially fighting the US. They did for 20 years, manning the entire oceans and seas, and spent their treasury doing so.
