PoP NB submitted a RTI request for records of discussions of Long Covid. The response brings to light a shocking level of deception perpetrated against the people of NB, under which true magnitude of risk was hidden and the fundamental precepts of public health were abandoned. 🧵

As an engineer, I can’t “strongly recommend” that a building or bridge not fall down… I have to ensure through minute specific direction that it cannot be reasonable subject to any condition in which it can fall down. Why is the same duty of care not required of Public Health?

Immunity debt, as it’s being used vernacularly as an anti-mandate argument and a negative outcome of masking claim, is a misrepresentation of hygiene theory. While exposure to diverse microbial environments bolster an immune system, pathogenetic diseases harm it.

It has been 325 days since the last public press conference on the still ongoing pandemic. People infer the absence of communication as an absence of hazard, and in the vacuum difficult truths never get officially corroborated and comfortable lies never get officially debunked.

NB Public Health therefore has an ethical duty to apply precaution. However, we now know NB decision makers had a staggering quantity of high quality information detailing the prevalence and mechanisms of the long term complications of Covid-19. They simply chose to ignore it.

Long Covid is a constellation of numerous symptoms occurring weeks or months following Covid-19 infection. It affects both adults and children. It attacks those who had severe acute infections and those who had mild or asymptomatic infections.

Public perception of Long Covid varies between it being uncommon and only impacting those with preexisting chronic health issues, to it being imaginary, psychosomatic, or of dubious origin. These perceptions are underpinned by an utter absence of its mention in the PH narrative.
