what a distortion. I do not know who you are but I wished you would have had a chance to live there under the brutal Khmer Rouge regime and to talk to 2 million of Cambodians who were slaughtered by that killing machine in the killing fields.

Vietnamese people like to say that they launched the Cambodian War to rescue those Cambodians who were slaughtered in concentration camps, which is very convenient but not true history. In fact, before Vietnam invaded Cambodia, the whole world did not know much about those massacres. They were obviously Cambodia's secrets, just as no one knew Hitler massacred Jews in the camps before USSR actually liberated those camps. You obviously cann't say the goal of WW2 is to resure Jews, so you can't say VN start the Cambodia war is to resure those people. Moreover, if Vietnamese went to Cambodia to save lives, why did they have conflicts with Thailand along the Thailand-Cambodia border? There are no massacres in Thailand, right? The fact is actually very clear. Vietnam launched the war mainly to annex Cambodia's territory. At that time, Vietnam had stationed more than 50,000 troops in Laos and arranged a large number of Vietnamese "advisers" in the Laotian government. Vietnam+Cambodia+ Laos+ part of Thai territories happened to be the territory of France's colonies in Southeast Asia, and also the "Indochina Federation" Vietnam's nationalists at that time dream of. The main purpose of China launching the Vietnam War was to prevent Vietnam from achieving this goal. After Vietnam withdrew its troops from Cambodia and Laos in 1990, China also ended its war with Vietnam and built normal relationship with Vietnam. Every time I talk about this part of history, Vietnamese get angry, but the truth is the truth, I will keep repreating it until majority of people are not confused by the wrong narritive.
