Today is VWD Day VWD is caused by a deficiency or dysfunction of the von Willebrand factor, a protein that helps blood clot. For many the easiest way to describe it is it's 'like haemophilia'. This VWD Day, we want to raise awareness of the differences.

Our look back over 2024 moves into May when we welcomed 3 new YAs - Jack, Robyn and Ryan. They've since taken part in a training weekend, volunteered at Youth Camp and attended our Big Get-Together. We're excited to see what they'll achieve in 2025.

Continuing our trip down 2024 memory lane, we're back in April again to give a shout out to our wonderful marathon runners. We're so grateful to Paula, Ross B, Wilson, Matt, Jamie, Hannah, Ross M, Eduard, Wayne, Oliver, Kate and Andy who between them raised £34,577.

A year ago the government was forced by parliament to set up a compensation body for those infected and affected by contaminated blood. A year on, not enough has been achieved. Government must listen to the community and get the compensation scheme right.
