Today we were lucky enough to have a visit from Simon Lightwood MP, our Member of Parliament for Wakefield. He gave the children a flavour of his role in Westminster and Wakefield and the children asked him some insightful and challenging questions.

Today we have been proud to welcome former pupil Dan Batty back to Holy Trinity. Dan has recently signed a professional contract with Manchester City. Hard working and humble, Dan is an incredible role model for our children.
Congratulations to our y5/6 football teams who came 2nd and 3rd in the Ossett Tournament this afternoon. An incredible effort in this heat!! Well done to you all.
A huge thanks to Wakefield Library Service for our brand new books. These are our prize for doing so well in the Summer Reading Challenge, so well done to all the children who took part.
We have a visitor in our Forest School which is great to see as hedgehogs are decline.
They love dog and cat food and water (not milk as this dehydrates them).
We are super proud of Isaac who volunteers for SCARD road safety charity and supports them with awareness and fundraising. What an amazing role model.

It is World Mental Health Day today and our children are busy enjoying fresh air and the great outdoors this lunchtime. Spending regular time outdoors can do wonders for your mental health.
Staff have started off the day with a 5k run for some, steps round the playground for others, raising money and awareness for British heart foundation!

Today we welcomed Headfields Junior School to Holy Trinity. We made new friends and showed them around our church. It was great to see the communication between the children and really interesting to talk about our similarities and differences.
Visit Ossett today and vote for our incredible scarecrow! It is situated in front of the town hall. Well done to all the children who were involved in creating it.
Our Year 4 children are learning about the industrial revolution in our local area today by visiting the National Coal Mining Museum.

Last year we allowed a section of our field to become ‘wild’. We have planted trees and let the grass and flowers grow and it is now alive with bees and butterflies!
