PRINCE SHUAIBU ABUBAKAR AUDU FOUNDATION INCREASES COVERAGE FOR SPONSORSHIP OF 2025 JAMB REGISTRATION FEES TO 1,000 KOGI STUDENTS The Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation (SAA Foundation) is pleased to announce the increase in sponsorship for the 2025 JAMB Registration fees to 1,000 students across the three Senatorial Districts of Kogi State. SAA Foundation, which had initially announced support for the payment of JAMB registration for 500 students in Kogi State, is increasing the number of the 2025 beneficiaries to 1,000 due to excessive demand and its desire to continue to bring succour to Kogites. The 1,000 beneficiaries will be drawn from across the three senatorial districts in the state: Kogi East, Kogi Central, and Kogi West. The Chairman of the SAA Foundation, Prince Idoko Daniel Ogacheko, and the coordinators from the three senatorial districts will be on the field to ensure smooth execution of this educational support initiative. I attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the 97mmscf/d capacity 5 mini-LNG plants in the Ajaokuta Steel Territory led by the NNPC Limited and other partners. The establishment of the new LNG plants in Kogi State is a game-changer for the country’s energy sector and will help position Nigeria as a key player in the global LNG market and therefore position the country to achieve President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of growing the economy to $1trillion dollars by 2030. Situating the 5 Mini-LNG projects within the Ajaokuta Environ will help expedite the concept of setting up an Industrial Park in the Ajaokuta Steel Territory which will also have a Gas-Park and Free Trade Zone as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President. The Ministry of Steel Development is playing a critical role in the establishment of the 5 mini LNG Plants by providing the relevant environment and encouragement through the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited, that granted NNPC Limited and its partners the sites for the mini LNG projects, aligning with the Federal Government objectives of leveraging gas for prosperity for the people of Nigeria. #PrinceOfSteel #RenewedHope

The Ministry of Steel Development held discussions with the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Industrial Training and Development, Hon. Adamson Ayinde, to explore areas of partnerships for training of artisans in the Steel Sector. Hon. Ayinde, with his team and Whitecloud Tvet Solutions Limited, is seeking collaborations with the Ministry to enhance the skills of artisans in the steel sector. This partnership discussion is coming at the right time as the ministry is prioritising training of young Nigerians and artisans in the steel sector revitalisation process and the Ministry is very willing to partner with the office of the SSA on Industrial Training and Development to train artisans, especially in new technologies that meet global best standards. #PrinceOfSteel #RenewedHope

The Ministry of Steel Development has commenced engagement with the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) on measures to increase the asset value of both Ajaokuta Steel Plant and the National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO), Itakpe, in order to attract viable investment during the privatisation process. During the meeting with the MOFI led by its Managing Director, Dr. Armstrong Ume-Takang, we explored various mechanisms to rehabilitate some of the sections and explore potential investment opportunities. We immediately constituted a six-man committee with an eight weeks time frame to draft a term of reference for engagements, so we can leverage the financial expertise of the MOFI to develop a sustainable investment framework that will not only boost productivity but also attract potential investors.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE HONOURABLE MINISTER OF STEEL DEVELOPMENT, PRINCE SHUAIBU ABUBAKAR AUDU, IN THE PAST 15 MONTHS SINCE ASSUMING OFFICE ON 21 AUGUST 2023: · Signing of the MoU between the FGN and the original builders of Ajaokuta, Messrs TPE of Russia and their partners in September 2024 for the rehabilitation, completion, and operation of the Ajaokuta Steel Plant and NIOMCO. · Following Mr. President’s visit to New Delhi, India, in September 2023 for the G20 Summit, Messrs Jindal Steel committed to setting up a 5 million metric tonnes Steel Plant in Nigeria to the tune of 5 billion dollars, as well as Luan Steel Group of China. · Partnership with the Ministry of Defence to sign an MoU to commence the production of Military hardwares in Ajaokuta Steel Complex. · Designing an in-house roadmap for the revitalisation of the steel industry by an in-house technical team to chart the course of the revival of the entire steel sector. · Encouraging and incorporating private steel players in the revival plans of the FGN with visits to private steel plants. · Organising a one-month intensive bootcamp programme to train Nigerian artisans. · Engagement with the National Assembly Committees on Steel Development for the adoption of regulatory frameworks for the entire steel sector. · Collaboration with the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation for the adoption of a new organogram for the Ministry. · A robust retreat for staff of the Ministry to sensitise them on the mandate of the newly established ministry in order for them to align with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for the steel sector.
