The argument for evolution is compelling, it applies across the sciences, not just in biology. The argument against it relies on ego (defense of one's religious paradigms.)

For example, knowing meteorology as I do I can use facts to create a compelling argument about climate in either direction; it's easy to sway lay people. I base my own reality on "most plausible vs less plausible." It works well.
