🚨CAREER UPDATE🚨
I'm launching a new YouTube channel at
@ChatSports
called 4 Verts - an NFL and College Football show.
I'm really excited to provide deeper analysis on the NFL as a whole and college football as well, a sport I absolutely love.

ESPN’s Ryan Clark on the thieves who stole stuff from Soldier Field:
“Did they steal the offensive playbook? Because if they haven’t, they didn’t take enough to help Chicago.”
Good lord 😭
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky ripping Bears’ Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy for running the SAME SCREEN 2 plays in a row, the 2nd resulting in a game-sealing INT.
Painful, man.

This "hands to the face" call on Jaylon Johnson took away an interception that directly costed the Bears. Absolute embarrassment for the NFL.
Do something

Jaylon Johnson is the Bears 2nd best player right now behind DJ Moore. He plays a premium position. He’s 24 years old. You have over $100 million in projected cap space next year. And you aren’t going to pay him. It’s embarrassing
Matt Eberflus when asked if Montez Sweat should play more snaps (39/62 snaps - 63%), whereas Aidan Hutchinson played 92% of snaps had this to say:
"That's just how we do it, we platoon those guys."
Uhhhhh, WHAT? If you're gonna go strictly rotation, you don't trade for & pay

QB Caleb Williams' can't turn the ball over 3 times.
Protecting the ball is essential, even when he throws for 363 yards.
"That’s his No. 1 job as a quarterback," coach Matt Eberflus said Monday.
Tomorrow is the biggest game of Justin Fields’ career.
A chance to keep the Bears playoff hopes alive. A chance to avenge his first NFL start when Matt Nagy got him killed. A chance to make the case he can be the franchise guy in Chicago.
Massive.
Ryan Poles when asked about what he expects from Caleb Williams this year.
"I want him to lean on the talent around him, but when the time is right, go be special."
SOURCE: Chicago Bears are the only NFL job Jim Harbaugh is currently interested in.
We've been told that Harbaugh would prefer to remain at Michigan, but if he does leave, the Bears are the only NFL job he CURRENTLY would want.

This was a thing of beauty from Caleb to Rome.
I still don’t understand the lack of under center play action shots. 2 big plays off of it today. Needs to be utilized more.
Justin Fields when asked if he wants to stay in Chicago:
"Yeah, of course. Of course I want to stay. To be honest I've been trying, with all the talk, it's hard to be in one place, but I can't see myself playing in another place. But I know how the league is...if it was up to me
ESPN talking about Justin Fields to the Falcons. They feel like a great fit if Chicago moves him.
My biggest fear is the Bears trading Fields and he balls out somewhere else. I think it’s VERY possible. Would be brutal.

I’m probably on an island here, but I’ll fire off this take:
Detroit was good tonight. Good. Not great, and certainly not special.
Took a fake punt to lead to 7 points, got gifted 7 points on a easy drop by Kadarius Toney for a pick-6. Put 1 legitimate scoring drive together.
Matt Nagy didn’t want Mitch Trubisky. And I don’t completely blame him.
Yet, he got a second chance with Justin Fields, and what did he do? He gave Fields ZERO reps with the starters during training camp and preseason and stuck with Andy Dalton. He dug his own grave.

Patrick Mahomes on if he still thinks about the Chicago Bears passing on him.
“I don’t know if it’s still on my mind, but I like beating them for sure.”
Pain.
Calvin Ridley is the exact type of WR that would flourish with Justin Fields. Elite route runner that consistently gets open.
Once the Bears GM/HC situation is resolved, that’s something I’d be looking into if I was Chicago.

Really appreciated a thoughtful, reflective, & candid conversation today with

QB Justin Fields as he enters, what could be, his final three games in a Bears uniform.

On paper, the Bears and Commanders offensive lines are pretty similar. Both are average units on paper.
If Washington can only get Jayden Daniels pressured 4 times last night, something is way off in the Bears blocking scheme.
My 3.5 hours later thoughts on the Bears.
- Caleb is progressing. 363 today and made more downfield throws. Connection with Rome is building. Needs to trim turnovers, but he’s clearly improving
- More Cole Kmet = good things happen.
- This lack of a running game is
When asked about how the offense will look with Tyson Bagent, Matt Eberflus said "you play to the strengths of the quarterback."
Yeah, that hasn't happened often this year with Justin Fields.
Matt Eberflus says on ESPN 1000 that the Bears “took a big step” yesterday.
Dude, you blew a 21-point lead with less than 20 minutes of game action to the only team in football that’s better than you.
“If you don’t watch that game and say to yourself Justin Fields still has a chance to be a really, really, really special player at quarterback, I don’t know what you’re watching. Watch.”
It’s not perfect, but there’s no doubt Fields is improving.
If I'm Ryan Poles, I'm making it clear to the Browns that RB D'Onta Foreman is available.
Physical downhill runner who rushed for over 900 yards last season in Carolina. Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert are ahead of him in Chicago, but he makes a lot of sense for Cleveland.
If Justin Fields and the Bears finish strong and he ends up being the guy, this play feels like a big reason why. Gets the Lions to jump on 4th and 13 and throws a dot to DJ Moore for a TD. Awesome stuff.
Miller Moss was awesome tonight, but let’s be serious…
If USC gave up 20 points to solid programs like LSU with Caleb Williams they literally never lose a game.
Serious question….Does Miller Moss give USC a better chance at making the playoff than Caleb Williams?
He took over in the 4th QTR punctuated with this DIME C-2 Hole Shot
If the Tennessee Titans can fire Mike Vrabel, you're telling me moving on from Matt Eberflus is out of bounds? C'mon man.
BTW, dumping Vrabel is an awful move.
